Another COSC journey
#1
Wink
Hi, another newbie is here.

I've been lurking this forum for a while, because one of my close relatives works on TESU BALS. Quarantined and bored me could not resist that Sophia deal  Angel (and I really hope COSC will not end partnership with Sophia anytime soon).
Anyways, feel free to chime in: any tips, comments, suggestions are much appreciated!

My goal is to start with AA.

Ethics by The Institutes, Cyber 101/201 by TEEX, 5 FEMA classes, and about 28 credits by Sophia (I guess only some on them are transferable).
I also graduated with bachelors 10 years ago. My school is in non-English speaking country and course-by-course degree evaluation is going to very painful process. I would just prefer to opt out and start from scratch.

Try Transcript Research and they're accepted by COSC

If you finish Sophia, you'll be most of the way to a BA with TESU; especially if you go with a lib. studies degree. An AA (if you are able to get all the Sophia credits in) would cost roughly $2,000. On the other hand, going straight for a BALS at TESU would cost roughly $4,500-5,000 total. If you go AA to BALS then you'd be paying $2,000 plus $4,000+ because the main cost at TESU (again, assuming all Sophia courses are complete) is the capstone + residency waiver. (These costs are not exact figures but are roughly in the right area.)

If you just want a piece of paper to say that you have a degree, you might want to try to get a Pierpont BOG AAS. Right now, this would cost you roughly $400 (4 classes through ASU earned admissions) + about $400 for a 1-credit class at Pierpont so that they'll print a transcript for you. If you don't want/need a transcript and just want something for your wall, it'd just be $400 for the paper. They want a total of 60 credits, but most of those can be satisfied with Sophia.

I'm looking to shift my career to a different direction. Something like joining non-profit setting.

Thanks for suggestion. They (and other major evaluation agencies) require sending physical copy of documents - this is not something I can do anytime soon. I lost the hard-copy of my transcript, so I'll need to travel to my home country to retrieve it (it could only be done in-person).

Thanks! Well, it makes sense to go for a BALS instead.

I've have so much fun mapping classes for TESU and COSC. So I'm going for BALS (Psychology/Sociology concentration) at COSC.
I anyway applied to TESU, just in case Smile

Remember that, after July 1st, you can only bring in 90 alternate credits to COSC. You can still bring in RA credits to fill out most of the rest, but not the cheap alternate ones.

Thanks for reminder. Yes, I'll be bringing RA credits.
