I got my unofficial evaluation back from Excelsior.
Considering the below, how many credits can I test out of, and how many courses/classes do I have to take with Excelsior?

It looks to me like you only have to take the Business Policy course with EC. You should be able to test out or take courses elsewhere for everything else. You can of course use EC courses and exams to fulfill your requirements as well, but they are not required. As far as I know EC has no limit on transfer credit or residency requirement for any of their programs. Good luck! I have been a student at EC for a few years and have been very happy with them.

I added my best guesses in bold above. I am not as sure about what fulfills requirements for Business degrees, since I did mine in Liberal Studies, but this is a start. Check with your adviser to see what will work, and that you have enough upper level credits in your plan. You might also want to take CLEP Microeconomics while you are going for Macro, and the DSST Principles of Supervision when you take CLEP Principles of Management if you need any more credits, since there is overlap. Are you going for an emphasis in MIS? You may need some more courses for that. Good luck!

Do you have any aspirations towards an MBA or MS in management? If so, I'd suggest taking microeconomics, macroeconomics, and accounting I & II via Straighterline, which would give you cheap graded credits for these core business courses.

I'm studying macro & micro on my own first, and will then sign up for the 1-month $99 option at Straighterline. Since I'll know the material already, I should be able to zip through both classes in a month (might even have enough time to get in a graded Algebra I course!).
