BA in 16-18 weeks?
#21
bjcheung77 Wrote:My recommendation for anyone wanting to get speedy credits if they are NEAR a testing site, CLEP/DSST and go for COSC.

The OP doesn't have time for cornerstone and capstone at COSC Sad Otherwise COSC is great because of the GRE credits and the FEMA credits.

If the deadline to apply for the capstone/TECEP at TESU is April 15, you have to be accepted at the school before you can register. So you need to do that today and call them too. It took them weeks to officially accept me and get me a student ID/login to enroll for classes. I think if you called and told them you wanted to register for a course they might speed that up. But its the 11th now so do that asap.

I agree with calling shortly after applying, however, there's also late registration until the 23rd, so don't give up hope if you can't get in by the 15th.

Thanks for making this clearer.

They claim a registration is processed "within 2 business days".

Edit: In the application they say 3-6 business days.

Everyone, thanks for the responses. I really didn't think I would get the input that i received so I'm very grateful.

The time frame is the most important thing for me obviously. I can put some work off, take days off etc. Work is actually not my highest priority right now since this came down. No kids, no wife or outside activities. Bottom line is i can, will and have to get this done. I expect a lot of myself and can handle this if given the correct path.

I have no issues spending money and time to get this done ASAP.

On a brighter side i learned today that i just have to have the credits done for the BA, i don't necessary have to the degree in hand. I just need to send the state I live in sealed transcripts showing my efforts are complete.

Im trying to give everyone as much info as i can and answer any questions you guys have left. Someone asked me where my 10 credits (its actually 18) are from and here is where they are.

Intro to American Music 3 credits
English Composition 6 credits
Psychology 170 3 credits
Intro to Sociology 3 credits
Crimonology 3 credits

Anyone need anything else from me i hit me up. I contacted TESU tonight to speak to a specific Student Success Counselor and she didn't pick up and didn't return my call. If anyone knows someone there personally that could help me let me know. I like dealing with people that get stuff done.

Thanks everyone!!

That helps a lot Smile

I think you'd still better do the TESU BSBA route to avoid the capstone.

I'm glad you have 18.

In case nobody asked yet, do you have any certifications? Do you have any knowledge where you could pass a certification exam quickly?

Start aleks.com for 20$ tomorrow do the college intermediate math, statistics, college algebra. Take your time on the assessment it's not timed. If you get 70% you will get some cheap 3 credits. Send into Ace and start the next one. While you are doing that knock out the free ethic course.

here is a link explaining the ethic course and some other options you could use

http://degreeforum.wikia.com/wiki/Free_S..._of_Credit

I want to see you knock out 30-40 credits, by May 15th.

Study your classes in groups. Knock out 4 similar classes within a week or two and move on to the next group.

Oh and as for finding somone at tesu that is super on point good luck with that. lol. I would just apply online, call the registars office, and ask to sign up for the tecep. They may try and charge you for the 300$ cornerstone class but don't worry about that because if you take a few courses at study. they will waive that cost so don't waste any time on the cornerstone.

Go ahead and do the online application. You're going to have to anyway. Then when you call during business hours, tell them you want to get registered for the May term and time is running short and can they please expedite your application. Don't mention that you're registering for the capstone as that will just get them spending time explaining to you why you should wait to take it until your credits are almost done...and you can't afford to wait. After you get access to online student services, immediately sign up for the capstone TECEP. You don't have to take it right away, you have 12 weeks from when the term starts, so there will be plenty of time to study for it.

Concurrently, send your old transcripts in to be evaluated. It will take 25 business days, so after you send them, try to forget about it.

Here is a degree plan for the BSBA at TESU.

I put in the courses you've already taken (blue), and luckily, you took all Gen Ed's (and better yet, you've fulfilled both English Comp's, Info Lit requirement, Diversity requirement, and 2 of the 3 Knowledge of Human culture's).

I also highlighted the courses you should take immediately (yellow). ALEKS's Intermediate Algebra and College Algebra, and Stats if you can. The free Insurance Ethics course.

Register for the Strategic Management TECEP immediately, even if you have to pay the non-matriculated amount.

Sign up for Study.com, to get affiliate pricing at TESU ($1800 for the residency fee instead of $2500, and a waiver of the cornerstone).

Then, start studying like crazy for the TECEP, and working through ALEKS - you have until the 30th before that expires.

Make sure you sign up for an ACE account right away as well.

----------------------

If you end up deciding that you'd rather get a BALS than the BSBA, that's fine. The Strategic Management TECEP will get you enrolled, and will count in the BALS as a Free Elective. So you won't lose it. Then, you should sign up for the Capstone immediately (May term) so that you can start on May 1 and be done with it at the end of July, just in time to apply for September graduation.

--------------------------

Good luck!
