Best way to test out of English comp 2 at TESC? (and personal +social responsibility)

So one of the few requirements I don't yet meet for my TESC business degree is English Comp II, what is the best way to meet this requirement? I already have English Comp 1 met so I could take the CLEP test but that would give me 3 "wasted" credits. Should I do that? Should I take the TECEP test for it? Just take the actual English Comp II class through TESC? (I will be on the Comprehensive tuition plan so this wouldn't cost me anything "extra" but I'd kinda rather just test out of it) Is there any other options? What do people recommend as the easiest/most painless way to meet this requirement?

Oh also I don't meet any of the 9 credits required for this section here:

I'm still not sure exactly what classes they need for these requirements or potential CLEP or other tests you could use to meet the requirements? Anyone have any insight? Hopefully I will know more when I get my other transcripts evaluated. Thanks again everyone.

I'm in the same position as you are, with Eng Comp I met and needing II. I'm planning to do the TECEP, just to get it out of the way quickly. As for the Diversity and Ethics classes, I used Sanantone's GenEd list to figure out what would meet the requirements.

If using the comprehensive tution plan and you want to take advantage of all 36 credits (which is what I did my first year), I would plan six credits (2 OL/GL courses) per semester and add a TECEP or ePack course to each. You can schedule the exams the same semesters or stagger to make final exams easier. TECEP and ePack courses are simply comprehensive exams. The difference between the two:
TECEP - you are creating the study guides yourself from the test description.
ePack - the course is made up of chapter quizzes. You then take each multiple times (6-8x) until you have been presented with all questions. This is what I used to create my study guide and skimmed through the recommended textbook.


Regarding the best choice for English Comp II - It's really up to you. I preferred to take both english comp courses as actual classes. Each individual has different opinions, but I enjoyed honing my writing skills. That proved to be a very wise decision. But yoiu can easily just take the TECEP for ENC-102.

I would also recommend the ePack PSY363 Industrial Psychology for the area of study. It was a fun study and a natural complement to Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior.

Another option would be Straighterline's English Composition II, Business Ethics and Society, and two from Anthropology, Sociology, and World Religions. Straighterline often has discounts on pricing. If you prefer coursework to testing, this might be a good choice for you.

(I'm not necessarily recommending this option, just sharing that it exists.)

KayV's suggestions are all great! I listed mostly TESC courses/exams in order to take advantage of the chosen tuition plan. I still can't believe it's gone up 2k in 5yrs.

Also, quick reminder...TECEP Business in Society and SL Business Ethics duplicate, so you must choose one to fill the Business Core Business in Society/International Mgmt requirement. For BSBA majors this limits the more affordable choices. You now have a choice of DSST Ethics in America, which has more available study resources, or the TECEP Environmental Ethics to fill the PSR Ethics requirement. Of course you can also seek out any other ethics course from an alternate source that does not duplicate.

For your Personal and Social Responsibility: I recently completed SL Business Ethics and Intro to Religion (I already had a B&M class in Anthropology for the Div course). I cleared my schedule for two days and spent a full day on each hammering through the entire course. I passed both with scores in the mid 80's; not amazing, but since it's pass/fail as far as TESC is concerned, I could live with it. The Religion course is very straight-forward. I highly recommend them if the cost is justifiable to you.

I also need to fulfill just Engl Comp II. I think I'm on the fence between SL and CLEP. So far, my SL experience has been very positive, so I'm leaning that way.

I recommend the English Comp II TECEP if you have time limitations like me. Spending a full semester in a class writing papers isn't something I have time to do so testing out was the best options. The TECEP wasn't hard and followed the test description exactly.
