So change of plans, guys. I think I'm going to be studying for the pre-calculus exam instead of calculus. I've got about "half" the exam covered which is mostly the differerntial topics.

I may start a new thread for the pre-calculus CLEP, or continue in this one. Either way, I'll start the heavy studying after finals. If anybody has information on the pre-calculus exam, feel free to contribute! I need the same suggestions (books, online material, etc).

Thanks

I decided to switch to precalculus because I think it's closer to my math skill level. Calculus is fairly new to me, but all of the information covered in precalculus is review (mostly...)

I'll probably buy the REA book, despite the abysmal reviews, and just work through information on websites.

Has anybody used Finish College Fast - Pass Your Clep Tests - Guaranteed! ? Their prices are pretty high for the material.

Hey folks,

I just finished some rough finals (genetics and medical bacteriology), but I'm ready to start studying seriously for this CLEP test.

I will be using:
Math Tutor DVD - Pre-calculus
REA's precalculus book

I loved the calculus Math Tutor DVD's, so I definitely picked up the precalculus ones to study. My test will be on June 2nd, and with the time I have allotted myself over the break, I should have a possible 100 hours to study from.

I'll keep you all posted!

Hey Everyone! My first post would be about math - haha.

I have been studying for this test for a couple weeks now, and I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I just wanted to post what books I am using and some links of some helpful websites. I don't know when I'm going to take this test - probably just do it when I have all the information down. So far though - limits, derivatives, integrals ... it's going well. Smile

I am using the Idiot's Guide to Calculus, the Humongous Book of Calculus Problems, and I recently acquired the Pass Your Class Calculus Book. I haven't been able to look at that one yet (busy with dance recital!) but from what I have heard I think it will be good.

desuu: I took Precalculus in January and got a 68. I didn't think it was too hard, but then again, I like math. I just used Precalculus Demystified and the REA Guide. I would recommend both, they were very good. You need to know functions inside and out ... and the rest of the test is Trig, Geo, Algebra and some random graphing problems.

Here are some helpful websites I found for Calculus:

Limits as x Approaches a Constant (a whole page of limit problems)
