CLEP Gurus....Mold me!
#1
Ok, so here's the evaulation I received from Thomas Edison. I plan to finish my degree in Biology, emphasis on Animal Science via TESC.

I've been doing biological research in the biotech/pharmaceutical indistry for 12 years so I KNOW, for sure, I can CLEP out of any science related class....so I ask you masters of the CLEP, guide me...have fun and you choose my initial move..........

Here's my evaluation, what do YOU all suggest should be my list of CLEP exams, DANTES, FEMA.....anything I can possibly do to pay TESC as few fees as possible and to expedite the completion of the BA degree?

Nobody? Sad

Anyone able to browse this TESC evaluation and suggest a 3-5 CLEP or FEMA exams I could take? I just want to be efficient regarding what I take....not take any unnecessary exams.....minimize paying TESC fees.

A lot of you have fordged the course and figured out the process, learned via trial and error and I'd like to avoid mistakes thanks to your experiences.

Thanks, VERY kindly!

Okay, I'll take a shot at it - here're a few suggestions to start:

For the remaining English, take CLEP English Comp w/ Essay (worth 6cr, you only need 3 cr., but passing it will cover ENC102)
For the Humanities req. English 201, take DSST Technical Writing (TESC transcripts as ENG201)
For PreCal & Statistics, take the ALEKS courses (best way to do math, IMO)
For the Computer req., ask about taking the CLEP Computer Systems test (transcripts as COS-101)
For Chemistry, take CLEP Chemistry

I'd suggest asking if you can take one of the other science tests, like Environment & Humanity or Astronomy for the Gen Ed requirements and then move down the Applied Biotechnology into your major. Can't hurt to ask...

For the A&P, Biochem, etc., check out both ECE and TECEP tests - they both have several likely options

I'd also suggest asking TESC why they put 'SPAN202 Fourth Course in Spanish 5.00 B SPA-202 *TE*CC' down in 'Other Courses' instead of Free Electives. I don't see a 'Ruled Ineligible' note beside it, so it looks like a mistake to me. If they won't move it up to Free Electives, then do these FEMAs:

Principles of Emergency Management
Emergency Planning
Leadership and Influence
Decision Making & Problem Solving
Effective Communications
Developing & Managing Volunteers
Animals in Disaster-A
Exercise Design
Radiologic Emergencies
A Citizen's Guide to Disasters
Animals in Disaster-B Commmunity
Role/Volunteer Agencies in Emergencies

Hopefully this will help in your planning. Smile
