CLEP Natural Science
#11
Do the IC Biology over and over and over until you get it all correct. Trust me on this one. Patience, think about it as you study, and repetition is your friend.

Then, study the 4kids series for physics, astronomy, geology.

Then do the Peterson free exams. Review the results. STUDY the ones you got wrong.....use wikipedia, etc.

Relax, it will become more and more clear as you study. I studied for 2-3 hours per day, for 2 weeks. MAINLY instacert. over and over and over. Got a 64.

what I did with biology is memorize vocab. words, it is important to understand all of the terminology.

The 2010 version of the REA Natural science test prep is very good. Also try some of the videos at khanacademy.org ( lots of science subjects). Do not get overwhelmed and don't worry if you have problems with the Peterson's I thought they were extra hard on this.

Take your time and use lots of different resources. Science can be easier if you don't let it scare you.

I took the Natural Science test Jan. 18th and the biology portion seemed easier to me than any of the practice tests that had taken, finished it with 15 min. to spare. The physical science portion on the other hand was a bit more difficult for me, though it might be because I was freaking out and was getting tired who knows. I really didn't think I was going to pass but I did, ended up with a 55 not outstanding but I was extremely was happy. For studying I just took a bunch of practice tests and studied the ones I got wrong, I also used a bio and chemistry text book, and several 7th grade physical science texts to get the basics which is what you need. Do spend time on chemistry, equations etc. To give a perspective I was worried about this test since I had never made over a 63% on my practice tests and the highest Peterson's score was a 51% all the other scores were pretty much upper 40s and I still passed... hoped that helped.

Just to let everyone know I passed! Ended up with a 55, not the greatest but I am extremely thrilled. Thanks to everyone Smile

Good job on the test! I just took the first half of the practice from Petersons completely cold becasue I read somewhere to start with that as it is easy. Well, they lied, of the 60 questions I got 14 correct. While I would never enter a test with out review or studying, just thought how can they say this is an easy test to start with and get your confidence level up, LOL!

I have taken other practice exams and passed with out studying, but I would not enter an exam unprepared.
