Okay, I’ll give this a shot. My plan is very heavy in math, science, and history, so you’ll need to double-check my work, since I am not familiar with these exams.

Take a look at the Degree Plan Template that Alissa made for a BS in Liberal Studies. It has some differences from what you need, but it will help you to see how to plug credits into the requirements:

http://www.degreeforum.net/62322-post10.html

General Education for BA – 12 credits in two areas and 9 credits in one area

Humanities – You have 6 exam credits.

Ethics in America
Technical Writing

Social Sciences/History – You have 30 exam credits + 9 upper-level credits + ? class credits already.

Intro Sociology
Criminal Justice
Fundamentals of Counseling
Human Growth and Development
Intro Psychology
General Anthropology
Lifespan Developmental
Organizational Behavior
Foundation of Education
History I
Psychology Adulthood & Aging – upper level ECE
Foundations of Gerontology – upper level ECE
Cultural Diversity - upper level ECE
Child Psychology– class ? credits
Learning Framework (Psychology Class) – class ? credits

Math/Science - need at least 9 credits including 2 credits for quantitative reasoning requirement

Applied Professional – You can only use 29 total and you have 24 exam credits + ? class credits already.

Intro Business
Here’s to Your Health
Substance Abuse - upper level
Prin of Supervision
Prin of Management
Human Resource Management
Intro Law Enforcement
Prin of Marketing
Intro Computers – class ? credits

Written English Requirement – 3 credits needed

Information Literacy – 1 credit needed

Depth requirement #2 – need 12 credits including 3 upper level in single arts and science discipline

You have a total of 23 exams which are 3 credits each for a total of 60 credits + 9 upper-level credits + ? class credits already. You still need ? LOWER-level credits and 21 UPPER-level arts and science credits.

You probably have a depth in Psychology already. The Psychology major requires 30 credits including 15 UPPER-level credits. Here are a couple of posts about that:

http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post54970

http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...l#post7133 (This one is older and may be out of date.)

You will need to find out:

Can more of the Psychology credits you already have be used toward the major?

Would both of these classes count as Humanities?
Intro World Religion – class ? credits
History of Religion I – class ? credits

Do these 2 credits count towards the Written English Requirement?
Effective Writing I & II (both one credit courses)

What would be a good choice for the second depth?

I think you have gotten a really good start on this. Now you just need to be careful what exams you choose, so that they will plug into the correct requirements.

I hope this helps you!

I made a big mistake! I worked on this for the last half hour and even sent a degree plan for NAP to check for me...then realized I had done the whole thing as a BS degree instead of BA. But rather than let it go completely to waste, here's what I came up with if you ever decide to do a B.S. instead of a B.A. Sorry I messed up! It's possible (consult an adviser) that you could easily have a second depth in business if you go this route, but I usually put history in a second depth.

Excelsior College--B.S. Psychology

General Education Requirements--9CR in two areas and 6CR in one area

Social Sciences & History, 6 or 9 Credits
Foundations of Education
Intro Sociology
Fundamentals of Counseling

Natural Sciences & Mathematics, 6 or 9 Credits, at least 2 of which must be college-level math or statistics
_______________________________________3
_______________________________________3

Humanities, 6 or 9 Credits
Intro World Religion
History of Religion I
Ethics in America

ALSO

English Composition Requirement--3CR Written English
_______________________________________3

Information Literacy--1CR Required
_______________________________________1

Depth Requirement #1--Major Option-30 credits in a single discipline, 15 at upper level
Child Psychology
Learning Framework (Psychology Class)
Human Growth and Development
Intro Psychology
Lifespan Developmental
Psychology Adulthood & Aging
Foundations of Gerontology --unsure about this one?
_______________________________________3UL
_______________________________________3UL
_______________________________________3UL

Depth Requirement #2--12 CR in a single discipline, 3 at upper level
History I
_______________________________________3
_______________________________________3
_______________________________________3UL

OR Scoring above the 55th percentile on any GRE exam will fulfill a depth requiremen, above the 80th percentile will fulfill the major requirementt.

You will need 3 more upper level credits in the Arts & Sciences
Cultural Diversity

Additional Upper Level Credits, you need nine--These can be Applied Professional/Free Elective
Substance Abuse
_______________________________________3UL
_______________________________________3UL

Additional Arts & Sciences/Applied Professional/Free Electives--up to 60 Credits
You can take whatever you want to fill up the rest of your credits, as long as it does not duplicate what is listed above
Intro Law Enforcement
Prin of Supervision
Prin of Management
Criminal Justice
Intro Business
H2YH
General Anthropology
Technical Writing
Human Resource Management
Organizational Behavior
Prin of Marketing
Intro Computers
Effective Writing I & II (both one credits courses)--Even if these apply to the Written English Requirement, you will still be one credit short. I'd recommend the three credit UExcel College Writing exam.

Good luck!

You’re welcome!

Alissa’s plan shows the Substance Abuse exam as upper-level, which I missed in my post. I will make a note of that. I don’t think it really changes the BA plan, though, because all 30 upper-level credits need to be Arts and Sciences and the Substance Abuse exam is considered Applied Professional/Free Elective.

I think Alissa’s “mistake” of making a plan for the BS instead of the BA will turn out great. This shows the differences in the degree requirements.

Thanks for that, NAP. Now I don't feel so stupid. However, I need to look over the Requirements for a Major in Psychology on EC's Publications page, because I'm not sure if what I have in there will meet all the area requirements. However, this plan is a good start!
