I'm not even gonna bother putting this in the exam specific section because there's nothing I can say that hasn't been said by every message there already - in fact, I only passed this exam because of what's in the exam specific section!
I worried myself absolutely sick over this exam! As has been said multiple times before, there's really no way to "study" for this one, but it's a good idea to google up "literary devices" and to review those. Actually, I took a bit of different approach.... most people said that there are "a few" literary device questions, and some people said there was as many as 10 questions. My approach was to study the devices and know them absolutely cold. My thought was that even if there wasn't going to be many questions, at least I figured that I wanted that number of questions correct. I'm embarrased to say that I rarely ever do any reading... it's just not my thing, and because of lack of reading, I am now a very s-l-o-w reader with relatively poor comprehension.
Time wise, this test pushed the limit. 79 questions, 90 minutes. First I went thru the test and answered all the sections that had short length passages to read (because I'm such a slow reader that I knew time would be my enemy). As I was hitting the 'next' button and passing questions, I was making quick tally marks on a piece of paper so that I knew where all the quick questions were. By quick questions, I mean something like "In line 5-7, the speaker....." whereas something like "In general, the tone of the passage is...." requires reading the entire passage and therefore I classified it as a question I would answer only after I answered all the quick stuff. This strategy paid off... I guessed 'B' on 8 questions and finished the test with 25 seconds to spare. Test Score: 57
