Community Colleges

Are any upper level courses available at local community colleges?

If so are they a cheaper alternative?

There is not a straight answer here; it depends on where you're trying to transfer the courses to as to how they'll come in.

For instance, TESU brings in ALL community college courses as LL. But, this didn't used to be the case; if the course info matched a course that they offered as UL (say "Principles of Finance" or "Project Management"), then they would bring it in as UL as well. Other schools may still do this.

In some states yes.  Wahington State and many other states let CC teach BAS degrees.

Community colleges are the best options to get lower level credit, next up would be the more expensive 4 year college/universities or institutes that grant degrees past the associates level. I would recommend going to something local if possible unless it's much more expensive than say, NMJC or TEL Learning.

Unfortunately, TESU doesn't let you do that.  You can only use 1 course to satisfy 1 requirement.

Totally depends. All courses offered at community colleges are lower level courses. However, when a course transfers, it is up to the receiving institution to give LL or UL credit. I have courses I have taken at a community college which were LL at most schools, but they transferred to CSU Global and UMPI as UL. At UMPI, human resource management is an UL course. They don't have a LL one. Not all schools are like this. I find this to be more of an exception than a rule. Excelsior on the other hand is VERY stingy with UL credit. I took UL courses at CS Global and EC would only give me LL credit.

There are some CC's that offer UL degrees, so they do offer UL courses.  https://www.miracosta.edu/academics/degr...index.html

Thanks. I'll check their price.
