I checked that thread it looks more clear now. But i should learn how many years does it takes? I'll check that too.  Smile

Virtually all of the alternative credit choices are either exams or self-paced courses, so you can move as fast you're able to do the work.

The ASU Earned Admission/Global Freshman Academy introduction to programming course is $400. Not the cheapest but certainly better than taking it at TESU.
The next offering is August. I believe SDC is working on an intro to programming course so that MAY be ACE approved at some point. If it's not approved by August time then(if I were in your shoes) I'd plan on taking the ASU course in August. There are potentially a handful of other online CC or University courses that may be cheaper but will probably have more hoops to jump through and space would be limited.

But it is only 3 credits. If we take courses at that price range it will be 16.000 USD to complete 120 credits. Hmm. I could be wrong. Don't know.

Just came into this thread to post the same thing. This seems to be the best option for international BACS students at the moment.

You might want to spend a lot more time reading this forum.  No one here is paying $16,000 to get a degree.  Instead, they are using alternative credit for about 114cr or so, paying about $30/cr, and they end up paying about $7,000 for a degree.  Total for all 120cr.

Spend a few weeks reading the forum, every new post that comes up each day, and you will learn more about alternative credit than you thought possible.  Then, dive in and get started on a degree.

You'll find that most courses are 3-credits, you'll need to complete approximately 40 courses in total to graduate.

That said, that specific course is $400, but if you use providers like Study.com and Straighterline for the bulk of your courses, you'll be paying closer to $100 USD for each 3-credit course. There are also other providers (such as Saylor and Aleks) which have limited course options but will come in much cheaper per course.

You can transfer up to 114 credits to TESU towards the degree, but you have to take at least 6 credits (2 courses) directly from them. So you'll have two courses to take from TESU ($2,250 USD) and two courses to take for data structure and intro to programming ($varies depending on source). That leaves 36 courses that you should be able to take from providers like Study.com (roughly $3,600 USD).

Assuming you are spending $1,000 between data structures and intro to programming, that means you'll spend roughly $6,850 for all your courses. After that, you just need to pay for residency waiver ($2,200) and graduation fee ($332). Or about $9,382 for the whole degree.

That would just be 1 course at that price. With an absence of cheaper alternative credit sources, that is a reasonable price compared to the cost of courses at TESU or even some of the other online sources.
You can't just apply the rate from one course to how much your whole degree will cost.
There are MANY ridiculously cheap courses available to international students that would offset that cost. Check out the wiki: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Fr..._of_Credit
You can get 10 credits free from TEEX, 2 credits free from the institutes and 2-3 credits free from Sophia(if you do the 2 free courses and then apply a $50 promo code to their new $49 course). Then you can do up to 30 classes through saylor which is free($25 for online proctoring if you can't find a cheap/free local proctor).

Also, not sure where you are located but it would be good to check if there are CLEP testing centers in your area.

Either way, I recommend that you go ahead and start with the free courses from Sophia, institutes, and TEEX. That's 15 completely free credits. That will bring your total cost down. As mentioned, ALEKs is another ridiculously cheap option if you can potentially complete three 3-credit courses in a month for $20. Even if it takes 2-3 months that's still cheap.

I agree.  If cost is your number one issue, then your best bet is going to be free and then inexpensive credits.  That means every credit-bearing Saylor exam that will work in your degree should also be done ($25 each).

Even using Khan Academy (free) to learn all the math you need as high as you can go, and then testing out of everything is your best bet to save money.  Go all the way through Calc I, learn Stats, and then take ALEKS' College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Statistics in a single month for $20.  Then take Saylor's Calc I exam for $25.

If you can find a proctor that will do your Saylor exams for less than $25 each, that's a good bet.

I also used TECEP's for LL courses that you couldn't do for super cheap (English Comp I & II, Public Speaking & Sociology) for $75 each.

The only thing I couldn't find was the 6th UL course (I have Computer Architecture, MIS, System Analysis & Design, and Database Management all from study.com).  Anyone know of an UL course that will work for $100 or less?  Otherwise I'm guessing since DSST probably isn't an option, the Networking TECEP or CSU-Global?

Also, I put Data Structures at $500, but if Study.com gets that through ACE, then it would also be $100.

I used my spreadsheet, and did everything this way, and came up with $7,122 for the entire degree.
