Cornerstone Course
#1
Hi guys,

My friend was doing his Cornerstone course for TESU.  It took about half an hour, there were five units and now it says "CR", which I assume means credit.  Is that it?  The entire course is done ?  Is there anything else he needs to do for this "course" ?

Yup... but at least they don't charge you full credit price for it like their normal courses.

Of course, that appears to be changing soon, as by all reports they're going to start requiring a standard 3-credit, normal priced course. Bummer.

People keep making this mistake. The announcement said that they would stop offering the 1cr version every term. It did not say they were getting rid of it entirely. That means you might not be able to start in any given term unless you were willing to take the 3cr version.

Cool, thanks for the clarification. I was just going based on what everyone else was saying, I hadn't seen any official communication.

Actually JSD might be right here. According to TESU, they may get rid of the Cornerstone completely beginning July 1st 2019. So you will be required to take SOS-110 if you don't complete it by June 30th 2019.

Its on the cornerstone page.

https://www2.tesu.edu/course.php?CourseCode=TES-100&sem=

" Beginning July 1, 2019 all students who have not completed TES-100 by June 30, 2019 will be required to take SOS-110 (3 credits), in lieu of TES-100. SOS-110 may be used to fulfill the required Information Literacy requirement or as an elective in all undergraduate degree programs."

Its under additional info.

Or is it that your must take SOS-110 in addition to the Cornerstone?

Apparently, they hardened the stance from the first announcement I saw on here. Good catch!

I don't think they hardened the stance, I think it was just poorly (and ambiguously) worded initially. "We will not be offering it every term", which you were fairly interpreting to mean "Not every term after July 1 will be a term in which we offer it" could also (and based on the clarification we have now received, did) mean "Every term after July 1 will be a term in which we do not offer it"
