DSST Introduction to Computing
#1
I was on the Peterson site and scored a 61 on the first practice test. The question I have is that a passing score? Since the official site says that 500 is the max score, how do I calculate what my score is into 500? Do I just take 500-61= 439, so 439 is my passing score? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

With Peterson's practice tests, we usually go by the percentage of questions answered correctly. How many questions were on the practice test? So, what percentage did you get correct?

A passing score is 400 (if you take a new refreshed version of this test).

According to this DSST article, which was originally posted by gofastinc, you need to get 59-63% of the questions correct on the real Intro to Computing test to pass.

I also thought this was good to have for reference:

The test had 100 questions, so I got 61 correct, so that means a 61% of the grade then. So that would be a passing if I am understanding the figures correct?

Okay, that's a good start.

I try to get a bit more cushion, so I'm not worried about passing during the test. Learn why you got each question wrong or right. Study any areas that you are having difficulty with. Also, take and learn from the rest of the practice exams.

Best wishes on your exam!

Have you done a thorough search of the forum?
The 'search' function is invaluable. Also if you are a member of the IC community, you have full access to the specific exam feedback which will answer all of your questions.
For $20 per month for access to IC, I find this well worth the money.

Yes, I felt InstantCert did an excellent job at covering the Dantes Intro to Computing exam topics. See my full review @ http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...post101705

HI! Just a tip for anyone who might want it. I found a 10-lesson site on Bing that gives a lot of information AND PICTURES about computer parts and such. Here is the link. Good luck and GOD BLESS!

Hello Everyone,
I am studying for this test right now. I have passed 4 CLEP tests so far, but I have not yet taken a DANTES.

In another thread on this test someone said to make sure we know about the laws that have been passed in relation to the internet, but these laws were not in the IC flashcard set.

Does anyone know why the laws are not in the IC flashcards? Does anyone know of a website that lists just the basics on these laws? I did a quick Google search and was not able to quickly find anything, and I thought maybe someone here had already found it.

Thank you in advance for your help!
