Dantes Intro to Computing
#1
Hey, anyone who is considering this test - I found an online resource that may be helpful. It's at Course Technology - Leading the Way in IT Publishing - which is the website of the book provided in the Dantes reference list. The book title is New Perspectives on Computer Concepts - 10th edition comprehensive.

You have to register to use it but it is free and doesn't require any kind of access code. Well, most of the study guides don't - some of the newer book guides do require a code.

Any way, they have a chapter by chapter overview for the book with an outline and review. Also they have audio flashcards (podcasts) that you can listen to as you do other things (surf the net??) and games you can play to reinforce what you've learned.

If you have trouble getting in let me know - but it's pretty easy. Hope this helps someone.

Hey Kelly, just clarifying your post for those not familiar with Course Technology's Cengage Learning.

Cengage is a publishing company for many of your college textbooks. I love when my classes use their textbooks because they have an amazing online companion guide. Like Kelly said, many times their companion guides are free and doesn't even require an access code!

The book being recommend is on the DSST Official Introduction to Computing Study Material List @ http://www.getcollegecredit.com/download...080509.pdf

Follow the bellow steps to get FREE access to the Dantes Intro to Computing study material.

Steps:
1. Click DSST Study Guide direct link @ 978-1-111-52907-9: New Perspectives on Computer Concepts 2012
2. Click access now button located below textbook image or add to home if you're already a registered member (registration is FREE)
3. Review quizzes, flashcards, and glossary of terms

After reviewing the material I would say it's a nice supplement, but definitely not necessary for passing the exam. And in my opinion it's way more work needed to pass the exam. Remember most schools only award a pass-fail grade for Dantes tests.

I put together a full review of the best DSST Intro to Computing Study Guides @ http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...post101705

But whatever study material you use good luck!
