Degree Plan Help
#1
Hello everyone! I have been reading here and other places trying to make a decision on a degree and school. I have an AS degree in general studies now I need to get a BS degree to keep my job. I am interested in the BSBA in Accounting degree from TESU. Would like to get it as fast and cheap as I can! I hate to ask, but could someone look at the classes that I have already taken and come up with a degree plan? I have tried but am just overwhelmed with so much information. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, Welcome to the board. I just did a quick skim through your excel file and think you've got your general education requirements/electives set, maybe even the free electives. The only thing missing is your Professional Business Requirements and the AOS (Area of Study). You can do the following:

1) Decide which TESU Accounting program you would like from their options, just the generic, the one with CPA, or the CPA/Masters.
BSBA in Accounting Degree at Thomas Edison State University (I would recommend this for ease)
Thomas Edison State University: Accounting/CPA (If you need or want CPA, this is the one)
Thomas Edison State University: CPA & Master's Track (Unless you have $$, the Masters is expensive at TESU)

2) Review this thread for a lot of information, it has a spreadsheet, copy that and modify everything including the AOS to conform to yours.
http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...llege.html
It has links to possible college credit for the AOS, such as SL/Penn Foster hyperlink to business courses.

3) Check the Degree Forum Wikia with regards to a possible set of AOS courses that are applicable to your accounting courses.
See here: Sanantone's BSBA in Accounting post-July 1, 2015 - Degree Forum Wiki - Wikia
And update your spreadsheet with everything to map out your course of action.

Hope this helps, have a great remainder of your day.

I created a spreadsheet for you. The only thing you need to do is decide if you want to take these courses at the places listed, or if you want to take them somewhere else. For instance, I said Saylor for everything they have available, but not everyone loves them. The courses tend to be overly long, have broken links, etc. So, you may want to try out a few, see how you do, and if you don't like them, switch to something else. But they are a good first step in the process, as the courses are free, and the exams are only $25 each.

Here are the steps you need to take:

1) Open a free ACE account: https://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseacti...ATION.main
2) You can take the free Ethics course; you don't need to do the course, just do the quiz over and over until you get 70%: Preserve the trust on which insurance transactions are based with an understanding of ethics
3) Take ALEKS College Algebra ($20/mo): https://www.aleks.com/sign_up
4) Try out the Saylor courses: Earn College Credit | Saylor Academy
5) If those don't work, switch to SL ($99/mo + course fees): Online College Courses That Fit Into Your Degree Program | StraighterLine
6) Finally, take the CSU-Global or PF courses: https://csuglobal.edu/undergraduate/prog...tions/cbes

Hope that helps!
