Dear Forum,
Does anyone have any input on the possibility of completing a BA with a double concentration in Natural Science & Mathematics as well as Homeland Security & Disaster Preparedness? They are both from the School of Arts and Science, though in unrelated fields.
Also, would one have to complete ( and pay!) two capstones? Or perhaps complete two and just have to pay one (wishful thinking...).

Isn't the Homeland Security & Disaster Preparedness a BS program rather than BA? The BS has different requirements and I'm not sure they can be done concurrently. Hopefully someone else has a more complete answer for you.

Excellent point Adavis84, thanks for pointing that out...I hadn't even noticed.
The general ed requirements are the same, so I hope this difference would only affect the area of study...for which one has to take all classes as prescribed in the catalogue anyway.
More input appreciated :confused:

Again, someone else likely has a better answer for you, but when I pull up Homeland Security & Disaster Preparedness in my eval, it shows a different capstone (HLS-498) and minor differences in the gen eds (ex: BS has an 8sh Nat World req, where BA has 4sh). Those were just the first two I noticed skimming the eval quickly.
From TESU website:

The bold emphasis is mine. But, since it looks like the BS has different gen ed reqs, I take that to mean the degree (BA, BS, BSBA, etc...) must be the same for there to be a second area of study.
Best bet at this point would be a quick inquiry to someone at TESU to be sure.

Good points, already wrote TESU but the advisor is away until 4 April..., will keep the forum posted once I know more.
