Are they really $240 or am I in the wrong place? I thought these were comparable to CLEP's or DSST's but that seems a bit much for one examination. Also do any of you know of any updated promotional codes? Thanks! cheersmate

At least $240...yes, they are pricey. Good for more specialized degree requirements, but that's about it.

I think the Uexcel are more in line with Dantes/CLEP costs. Is that what you were thinking of?

Check into Uexcel as they are closer the the other charges -- anyway you look at it less than $100.
This is why you see talk from time to time about GRE Subject Exams as a way for some to save money and time to accomplish their Majors with EC and other schools.

I think it's the ECE unless some other place offers Cultural Diversity. On the Excelsior site they have Cultural Diversity as a course and it's required by my program so if someone else offers it I'm all ears.

I thought we were only discussing the fees.
General information at:
https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_Coll...aminations \
Costs:
https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_Coll...rogram.pdf
Page 6 says the cost for ECEs are $240 for 3 credits, $275 for 4 credits, and $345 for 6 credits. Based on this the 6 credits are the best buy.
Remember what a face-to-face course costs plus the time you will need to invest. Since we don't have every subject available through CLEP and DSST, this beats the other alternative.
Uexcel home page:
UExcel - College Credit by Exam
Cost $85.
Course List is very limited, but if you bomb a CLEP or DSST, here is a fast retake on some subjects:

University of Central Florida (if a Native):
Course: TSL 5525 - ESOL Cultural Diversity
Catalog Description: TSL 5525 ED-TLP 3(3,0) ESOL Cultural Diversity: This course is designed to identify major cultural groups represented by the LEP population in Florida schools and to understand their special needs. Occasional.
College: College of Education
Department: Teaching & Learning Principles
Class Number: 21287
Instructor: Edwidge Crevecoeur
Units: 3
Class Capacity: 30
Notes: Web-based course; WWW access, browser, e-mail required.
Attendance: No face to face meetings.
Other Considerations: Contact instructor at
ecbryant@coe.ufl.edu for additional material costs and further information.
Doubt this is of any help...but just in case. State schools charge an arm and a leg for nonresidents but good for FLA residents and military.

Thanks I know it's a bit cheaper than taking the course at a B&M school I just wanted to make sure I'm in the right place. I'm wrapping up my courses so taking a class is out of the question right now. At least I have a test center near my house. That makes for an easy trip to take the test. Thanks!
