My understanding is that you take take the required FEMA classes, take the required college credits, apply at the community college and send the transcripts to the professor directly.

Yep, you take the free FEMA classes, and send your transcripts to the professor yourself. There are 3 or more required college credits which may be difficult/expensive to get online: the admin/management course which has to be in police, security, or fire areas. Others are mostly easy to get online because ACE is accepted. Most of the people who have gotten this certificate already had offline prior classes/certifications from military/law experience.

I am still a little confused too. This is probably a dumb question. I thought I read somewhere where someone just sent their transcripts to the professor without applying to the school? As I said probably a dumb question =).

I think it can be done without applying to the school, but I don't know if we know for sure.

But someone implied that he considered it like a donation to the school (from my interpretation). It's cheap.

Any new ideas on the 2nd CJ/Security/Fire/etc course?
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.

Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.

Could anyone give me a quick run down on this cert. What's the best option for completing the FEMA courses? I'm a paramedic so this would look great on my resume for career progression/health care management. I have completed all my gen eds when obtaining my BALS humanities at TESU which included straigherlines criminal justice course.
