To enroll for a BSLA at Excelsior does the college straighterline english transcribed?
Can anyone tell me if they have received a decree at Excelsior by testing out?
I know they require 30 hours UL credit but that is fine
Just wonder if I would be able to complete my decree with Excelsior by testing out?
Thanks for any response given.

It doesn't need to be transcribed through a partner school unless you want a grade on it. You can have it sent through ACE. They don't accept SL courses directly.
You can test out of pretty much everything except the info lit requirement, but you can do that through Penn Foster, and it just takes a couple hours reading and then two non-proctored tests.
If you can get the UL credits, you can get through the degree with them. And Excelsior has a bunch of UL credit ECE tests that you can take through Pearson Vue centers, but they're not cheap.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.
Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

You can't test out totally, as they require and Information Literacy credit* and recently they added a no credit course (Getting Started -- Online Course Orientation for Students) that needs to be completes as well.
FYI, to save money *take the info lit through Penn Foster
Penn Foster College - Business and Industrial # is 1-800-233-0259
ENG103 – Information Literacy (1 credit)

It's "highly recommended," but not required. At least, that's the sense I got.

Did either of you enroll before 9/1/09? I just enrolled and everything I have seen says that the orientation is now required to graduate.
It took about 3 hours to read and take the required quiz. (I already knew a lot about the college and website, but I did learn some things.) It was then moved from my registered course list to my completed course list.
I wish they allowed prospective students to view the orientation. It gives a good impression of the college and all that it offers to students.
Frankiebleyes, please let us know if you have any more questions.
