Financial Accounting CLEP

Hi,

I am new to InstantCert. I have taken CLEP tests before and have had good luck with the REA books along with used textbooks from Amazon Marketplace for study material. I've earned credit for Micro-Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and Marketing. I've tried the same method with Financial Accounting but have one major problem. I keep falling asleep while studying. I have turned to InstantCert in hopes of a more stimulating experience. If I pass the Accounting exam I am done with my BS Information Technology. If anyone has any useful tips about this exam please share your thoughts. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your CLEP successes! Financial Accounting was the one exam I didn't use IC for and instead relied on the REA. I've worked in accounting in a bank (which is not like accounting anywhere else) and you'll see below it was my lowest score. The best advice I have is try to think of accounting concepts spatially and relationally -- if you can grasp database normalization, Accounting is within your reach.

Congrats on your Clep success as well! Impressive. So I guess you have experienced the "Balloon Party" scenario in the REA guide. By normalization do you mean the balance of debits and credits in the fundamental accounting equation?
