First Post ( Help!)

Hey Guys,
Ive been reading on this forum for a while and wanted to say THANK YOU for all the advice and testimonials.. helps so much..

here's my situation, i have 6 tests ( 5 cleps and 1 dsst) to get my diploma..and i am leaving in January for Dublin.. so i have about 3 months. can any of you guys look at my tests and recommend an order in which i should take these and possibly tell me how i should place them over the three months? like i prob wont need 3 weeks for marketing but will need that for mathematics. i took sociology and got a 59 after two days of studying IC. then took American government and got a 43.. so that's one im retaking cause 6 months past..and i swore i would never just give 2 or 3 days to studying again.. i want to use IC mainly and cant afford much but have college board study guide that has questions..

CLEP:
1.Principles of Marketing-
2. American Government
3. Us History 1--
4. Us history 2
5. College Mathmatics - 6 cred

Dantes:
6. Dantes Enviroment and Humanity

i have SO much anxiety over this. i want to make the best plan possible and any help would mean the world to me. even if you tell me how youd attack this list with only 3 months. how much time to each. right now im thinking 15th and 30th of each month a test and 2 solid weeks for each. but my friend said i should just go when i have IC at 100% on each section.. even if its 4 days...

and the peterson says 20$ a practice test .. you guys always use this? or only on the ones you have doubt about..could be quite pricey!

oh also which one of thees are fine with just IC, (hopefully all)

thank you all in advance!

P.S one more thing do you guys do each section of clep on their own and then get 100% on that section or do you go through ALL sections in a row over and over. thank you!!

The history ones are the ones I've taken, so that's the only ones I can tell you anything about. I would tackle U.S History I, then U.S History II, then American Gov., in that order, and you can see from my signature that's exactly what I did. I usually read through the IC flashcards once, in order, then I go through them again, and I write out the entire question and answer to all the ones I missed on my second pass through, then I keep going through until I get 100% correct. I don't usually bother to scramble the order of the questions.

And I always use more than one source (sorry!) not just IC, but for history subjects it's so easy, cause you can just chill and watch the History channel all the time. Or check out all the history videos from your local public library and just watch those. There's TONS of history videos out there. I am a pretty visual learner, so watching lectures and videos helps A LOT.

Definitely check out the exam specific threads for each exam you are considering. Those things are a gold mine of info and advice for every individual exam. Good luck!

I agree with alissaroot. I would take US I & II and then American Government. I would then take Marketing, Math, and finish up with your Dantes test. None of these tests are extremly difficult, if you study hard you be done well within your 3 month window. Good luck!
