I'm a 19 year old, Software Engineer, who is enrolled at TESC for a B.A. in Computer Science. My bachelors coursework is completed and I am waiting for graduation to roll around. Will start pursuing ALM in Information Technology with a concentration in Software Engineering from Harvard Extension School sometime in the coming year.

I found out about them not charging in other states on this forum. The one in San Antonio didn't charge, but the test administrator was always "busy."

I found a free source for DSST administration locally through a Christian College, they even served complimentary cookies.
CLEP administration fees varies wildly locally even among public colleges. My oldest had to take them at an expensive outlet and pay the extra fees as she needed to use the credits with the optional essays at that school. My youngest (14) can't even take them there due to her age, she has to travel to a private, though cheaper, school in the next town. It definitely pays to shop around...

Finally spoke to someone in the TESC Admissions office and although you can write the letter and ask to be admitted if you are under 21, you *do* need a GED or diploma. No biggie.
Also found out they should accept any community college credits as long as they are "regionally accredited", which I'm sure our college is. (Although I'm wondering at this point if they'll offer any classes he'll need. When I looked at the number of credits he's working on, it's about 27 just THIS school year!) |
