GRE test tomorrow

For one thing, it was hard, probably harder than I might have expected. Definitely harder than I might have expected. But I'm finally realizing that it's over and I can study something else! Intro to Computing, Astronomy -- I'm very pleased about that.

The shortest 3 hours ever is over. I only hope that the difficulty of the test translates into an easier to achieve percentile. We'll see.

I echo everything my buddy, Ruddigore says here. Wow, who knew that 3 hours could fly by so quickly. How come it never does when you're at the DMV? Or the airport?

The test was more difficult than I expected it to be but mostly because I felt that some of the authors/works asked about were a little obscure. Someone could definitely make some cash but writing a more definitive, up-to-date study guide for this particular test. Hey, Ruddigore, maybe after Intro to Computing and Astronomy??? hilarious

Who knows, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised! You never know.

One thing that happened prior to the test gave me quite a scare. I was sitting down at my left-handed seat, filling out all the information when I noticed there was a section for my Social Security number. Oh no. While I have made a number of detached efforts to memorize my SS#, no matter what I did sitting there, it wouldn't come. Once you entered the room, there was no leaving, so trying to call home for the number wasn't an option. I was stuck. Would they cancel my scores if I failed to provide all the information? My fears were finally allayed when the proctor came to give me the directions on how to fill out the information. He said ETS technically couldn't require my providing my SS# and it wasn't any of their business anyway. Amen.

Now...the wait.

Your brain was most likely too full to retain one more piece of information. If you remembered your social security number then you'd have to forget the definition of an alexandrine just to make room. And, since that appeared on the test about 50 times, that'd cost you points big time.

Congratulations on finishing the test and moving on to other things. I took it in October and I agree, it was hard. I kept going over the questions in my head and googling topics for the last month while waiting for the scores. And of course I had to give ETS the $12 to get my score on the phone today. I did better than I ever hoped to do. Good luck! I belive that if you thought it was hard, you did better than you think!

Wow, wow, wow. I can only hope and pray that you are right! Was it worth the $12 to get your score early? I'm assuming that you haven't gotten the mailed copy. Again, amazing score. Congratulations on getting 30 credits! (Provided that you're using EC, of course.)

Good job to everyone who tackled the GRE! I flaked out on retaking it since I've been too busy with classes, which isn't like me at all and I'm embarrassed. :o But I'm impressed and I can't wait to find out how everyone did! Now the wait for Nov. scores will be agonizing...oh, by the way, both times I took the GRE the scores were available by phone the Saturday (or Sunday?) before they said they would be. I called every day for a week or so before they were supposed to be available and I remember the scores being early both times, fyi.

I have had this exact same scenario play out several times, so I finally got my act together and memorized it. 9 digit numbers are hard to remember!
