Get an Excelsior Evaluation done!!
#1
For all you degree seekers out there, especially military folks, I strongly recommend you get your transcripts, and military transcripts evaluated by Excelsior. I have never set foot in a class or taken an online course. Just CLEPs and DSST exams, plus what I’ve done thru the Army. I finally went to the education center on Fort Hood and the Excelsior counselor did an evaluation on all my stuff.
She gave me 68 SH towards an Associates in Technical studies and 85 SH towards a BA in Liberal Arts. She told me what CLEP/DSST/ECE exams to take to finish up fast and which ones not to bother with. If I want my Associates, then all I need is a Science CLEP, a written English requirement and a math. Don’t waste time on tests you might not need and focus on what you will need. Get an eval done!!!
I’m pretty sure someone else has already posted this advice, just wanted to re-emphasize it. Also want to say that I have not failed a single CLEP/DSST exam since joining InstantCert.
Good luck.

GREAT post!!!! Hopefully this motivates all degree seekers to "see where they stand". They may be closer than they think to a COLLEGE DEGREE!!!!!

20 UL Credits to go (7 tests)
BS Liberal Studies
Area of Focus:Computer Information Science

Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union (August 6th)[/COLOR]

You could take 25 DSST tests or 27 CLEP tests for the price of 1 UoP class.

I applied at all of the Big Three and sent out my transcripts as well. I am waiting to see at which one I can complete my degree the quickest with the least about of credits. How quickly do they do the evaluation? Also, how do they contact you...email, phone? Will they run 'what if' evaluations, like say I want to do this major, or that major, no major? How easy going are they about the whole process? I didn't really want to pay out $75 to each of they but I figured it was the best way to get definite answers on how to progress.
