HELP! College Algebra holding me back for my MBA...
#11
I, too, struggled with Algebra. To graduate from Excelsior I took their online "Math for Everyday" class. It was very doable. I got a B+ because I was late on one assignment. I had failed at CLEP, Aleks, and community college math.

The course is pricey, I think with the book it was about $1300. However, it was the only thing between me and my BS. You can take it in either an 8 week session (I did) or a 15 week session.

When I enrolled in Patten's MBA program it was accepted.
Denise

MBA - California Coast University - Will complete by 9/30/26
MS - Management and Leadership, WGU 2022
BS - Liberal Arts - Depths in Healthcare and Psychology, Excelsior College 2014
Certificate - Workers Comp Admin, UC Davis Extension, 1995
AA - Licensed Vocational Nursing and Selected Studies, Mesa College 1989
Certificate - Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN), Mesa College 1977

Also, someday maybe a MS in Forensic Psychology, just for fun.   Oh, and a BS in Animal Behavior.  And, maybe when I'm 85 a PhD in something fun.

I scored a 69% on the ALEKS assessment for College Algebra. What now?
I worked on a few more topics, and its says 69% + 2% in my progress report. What does this mean?
What do I need to do to have a passing grade from here?

go into the master account and generate a new assessment till you get your 70%. Once you get 70% your done, send that to ACE and/or the school. Beware...you can go backwards in ALEKS. Smile

I would try to get a few more percentage points before doing another assessment. If the quiz includes things you don't know, you're assessment % could go down.

ALEKS generally gives you a new assessment automatically every 20 topics/+5 hours. Personally I never liked forcing assessments. Spend another few hours (until you reach a minimum of 5 hours and 20 topics) and it will automatically give you another assessment. In my experience, you're likely to hit the 70% mark at that point. Good luck!

Don't disagree....but he is at 69%, It would be tempting to try an assessment a time or two and see if you could just beat it! Smile

You're right - I would probably do one. I got a 30% on my first assessment, worked to 42%, then forced an assessment and I got a 41%. So if I was that close to 70%, I'd probably try it 20 times!!

It's just easier if you work a little more...

Just got a 75% on my assessment!
Now, I am not sure what is more confusing... parabola and irrational numbers... or the ACE credit service website.
Can someone walk me through this? Maybe I am just fried from staring at a computer screen for every waking minute in the last 4 days...

https://www.aleks.com/about_aleks/ace_credit

Instructions to Receive ACE Credit for an ACE Credit-Recommended ALEKS Course:

Create an ALEKS Independent Use account and register in an ALEKS ACE credit-recommended course. Work in your course and assess at 70% or greater on the course material.
Register with the ACE Credit Online Transcript System and submit a transcript request.
ALEKS Corporation will receive the transcript request and verify if you have assessed at 70% or greater on the course material. This usually takes ALEKS Corporation approximately three business days.
If you have assessed at 70% or greater, you will receive an email from ACE when processing is complete. This usually takes approximately 1-3 business days for ACE to complete.
If your request is denied, you can continue to work in your ALEKS Pie until you have assessed at 70% or greater on the course material, and then resubmit a transcript request following the steps above.
The ACE transcript can be used to request college credit at educational institutions that grant credit for ACE credit-recommended courses.

This should be the portal to start an ACE transcript request. https://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseacti...ATION.main
