Homeschool 4th Grade Curriculum Questions...

Not a hijack... Smile Over-organized is about as debilitating as the other, so I understand your concerns. I tend to plan and plan and plan...then when life inevitably does what it does, get all pouty that my 365-day detailed planner is now a day or two or ten behind. There's a middle ground for both our personal hiccups. Talk about it in-depth with your wife and make sure she's as on board as you are (it's going to require both of you to be fully invested, no matter which of you is the primary teacher). If you are, the resources are out there. It's just a matter of finding the ones that'll suit your wee ones the best.

We're so excited. The makers of Saxon Math also produce a Grammar & Writing course. It was previously only published for 5th to 8th grade, but they are expanding their program and releasing 4th grade curriculum in its first edition this year. It should be out any day now. We've had an opportunity to take a look at someone's 5th and 6th grade books, and so long as 4th follows the same format, it is exactly what our little bug needs. We're using home-at-school type full curriculums as soon as 3rd grade class ends to get him used to learning at home instead of classroom, and then we'll adapt resources and styles as he gets comfortable and we can evaluate what works and what doesn't. And we picked up some of the workbooks reb recommended for supplement, along with Time4Learning since little bug loves computer time.

Just six weeks left before we can get started! We're all fired up. Smile Thank you so much for tips and ideas to get us moving!
