It's a weird feeling. I don't know how to describe it. I'm not sure it's really hit me yet.

About 3 years ago, I had resigned myself to the fact that I might never have my degree.

I just couldn't see how I could fit it in with working full time as a paralegal and taking care of my son (special needs) and helping my DH get his business off the ground. I just kind of accepted that we couldn't afford it and that I'd just have to figure out how to make a way out of just my certifications and my paralegal certificate. After all, we really weren't hurting financially. We built a new house, had two cars, you know...there wasn't anything we NEEDED...just things we wanted. But still...it was a personal goal that taunted me all the time.

When I found this board after googling ways to finish my degree online...I found this board. What a blessing! I really thought I'd have at least 3 years to finish. I was kind of hopeful when I first started out at the CC. I had 45 credits of foreign language from military service from DLIFLC but when the CC first accepted the credits and then removed them saying they couldn't accept them...I was devastated. That only left me with less than 10 credits and I was really starting from the beginning. That was January 2013. But, then I found you all and started knocking out CLEPS. The big three forum I didn't even look at for months because I had no idea what that was about. When I finally read through that sub forum I was like wow...why didn't I look at these threads before. When I discovered COSC and credential evaluations...WOW! I couldn't believe that a certification I already had could yield me 39-41 credits. I was totally stunned and that propelled me to the finish line. I am just so thankful for the blessings and opportunities that God has given me.

Right now I feel happy and accomplished but DH admonished me because I never take the time to enjoy my accomplishments. I'm always like...I got it now on to the next thing. Here I am pursuing my Masters. I never saw that coming. I wouldn't have thought it was possible less than two years ago. I'm not even sure that the owners of this board comprehend just what a blessing/tool they have here and I can't understand why this board doesn't have a million more members every day!
Don't miss out on something great just because it might also be difficult.

Road traveled: AA (2013) > BS (2014) > MS (2016) > Doctorate (2024)

If God hadn't been there for me, I never would have made it. Psalm 94:16-19
