180! Wow.

Purdue Global is on a quarter unit system. 180 quarter units is equal to 120.06 semester credits. It's in line with the typical bachelors program.

Today I learned, the rep I worked with didn't tell me that. Thanks for the information. I asked why their degree was 180 and and other programs are 120 and they answered it was because of quality and that even if it took more time it would be worth it. The person I worked with was nice and really wanted me to build a PLA. The PLA was a separate cost from the other tuition and I was informed if the PLA didn't give me credit I could use the cost of that towards the PG degree.

I would really like to see a student that has gone through the program comment on it and let us know how it went for them.

Yeah to be clear my comment wasn't to endorse Purdue Global, I don't know anything about them good or bad. I'd be skeptical of them at this point, but I hope they surprise us.

I too would like to know this.  I would love to work on my course work for 6 months, and then enroll and work for another 6 months "officially".  That would be a good speed for me.

If you are a new student, they give you access on the 15th of the month prior to the start of your term. You can start working, though you can't take official tests (you can take pre-assessments), record videos, or turn in assignments. That's what many of us do. I did my non-capstone courses in 1 month, from October 15-November 14, though my term officially started on November 1. When the term started, I had papers to turn in for 2 classes, was ready to take the exam for 1 class, and had the paper written but not the video recorded for another class.

I saw some people on the WGU Facebook group asking for assignments so they or someone else could start working on them before having access. To me, that's kind of like cheating (it definitely violates policy for those handing out the assignments), and also you run the risk of having the assignment changed before you activate the course. During my time several courses were updated, but I don't know if they change the assignments at all. A number of the assignments had "supporting documents" that gave more detail that you would also need to complete the assignment appropriately.

I mentioned a guy in the WGU IT Slack channel that was pre-gaming his Cybersecurity Masters like this while waiting for his bachelors term to end. It bit him HARD as they changed the entire written curriculum on 1/1/19. None of the papers he wrote now apply to the current degree program.
