Hello!
I am a first-time member and am really enjoying instantcert.com! I am planning to take my first CLEP test May 27 (at the latest) in PSYC101. I am a full-time employee, a full-time student, and I volunteer as well. My problem right now is finding time to study when not working on my current homework or getting caught up in daily life. Thankfully, I can go on instantcert.com while at work and do it when I am not working on anything else.
I guess my question is: Does anyone have any suggestions for different ways to find time to study, study methods, and/or creative memory techniques, etc?
My goal is to CLEP out of this class so that I can take a six-week break from school and be able to start my BS program in January 2009.
Well, if anyone has any suggestions/tips, I would greatly appreciate them!
Thanks,
Abby

Check this link

I think it is personal as each person has a learning style best for them. I use mnemonics for lists of items, or as in the case of the Psych Clep, parts of the nervous system, eye, brain etc.. (I make them personal - usually something funny/silly/outrageous to make it easier to remember). For equations/formulas I memorize them (a limited number!) and write them down on scratch paper right after I have started the exam.
I also find I learn better if I look at hard copy (my own notes from IC material, or Wiki/other stuff) and if I haven't had much time to study, then I do a rapid brain dump onto paper before the exam. Sometimes (depends on the subject and my previous experience with it) it also helps to have a basic overview of a subject before digging into IC.
Lastly I find that taking practice tests (Collegeboard, Petersons, or whatever else others on the forum have found useful) and then reading all the answers reinforces things right before I take the exam.
Good Luck!
