Is College Math easier than the Biology Test?
#1
I am horrible at math and have been studying from the clep books and I feel like I haven't learned anything. I just paid for the Instantcert and was starting to study Biology. I need either the Math or Science credits to finish my degree. Please help.
Thanks

IMO, math was wayyy easier (and I'm not a huge math brain, either). I studied quite a bit for biology & still wasn't familiar with most of the stuff on the test. If you did well in 7th grade math thru algebra 1 you should only need a brush-up for the College Math. Take one of the practice tests in this pdf, they should give you a reasonable idea of how comfortable you'll be with the math test:

I appreciate the encouragement. I haven't taken a math class in about 12 years so its a little tough.
I will take the practice test and see what I don't know. Thanks again

Hi!

I have taken both of these exams recently also.

Here is my feedback:

Biology: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post67426

College Math: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post75629

I would avoid the pre- and post-test in CLEP Success for now (too hard). Just look through the reading sections and review questions to see how familiar you already are with the topics that will be on the exam.

Do you need 6 credits? Can you take any math or science exam? You can definitely pass these tests, but maybe you have some other options, too.

I need 6 credits and I can either do Math or Science. From what I am reading and the time I have to get this out of the way, I think I am going to study my butt off for the math.

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it

If your school will accept Aleks courses on an ACE transcript , that might be an option for getting 6 credits in Math.

You could sign up for the free trial and take an assessment to see where you stand before paying for a course.

If you're not confident with Math and take the Science route, see if natural sciences will work. Its also 6 credits. I think the math was fairly easy, but to each his own.
