Amberton University MA in Professional Development
#1
I will be starting the MA program in Professional Development from Amberton University. First I will complete 4 VESi courses through Morningside College for a total of 12 graduate level credits only costing me $980. A STEAL. I will then transfer these credits into my degree plan at Amberton. You may transfer ANY graduate level credits acquired from other regionally accredited schools, but your limit is 12. For more information, do a search in the forum and you will see what I mean.

This program is very affordable at under $7,000, and you have the opportunity to basically mix and match ANY combo of grad courses offered online at Amberton aside from two mandatory courses.

This will leave me with 8 classes. In order to receive military tuition assistance, I must have four of those classes belong to a particular graduate certificate program at Amberton, considering the Navy's policy in that they will fund one undergraduate degree, one masters, and one grad certificate, and I will already have my masters degree from Central Michigan University by the time I start my final four courses at Amberton.

Does anybody have experience with the online courses at Amberton University? I'm a little nervous about it considering the majority of my school experience has been in the classroom setting and I hear that the coursework is no walk in the park. Does anybody have any further information? I thank you for your time. Smile

Thank you for your replies. Yes, it appears that norema has answered many questions about this program. It almost seems too good to be true! I will pay about $3700 of tuition at the end of the day for a masters degree. Can't get any better than that!... or can it? Wink

Aww, that is sweet; thanks! I have just been here for a long time and have read most of the posts written during that time. I tend to remember the information by who wrote it, so it is easy for me to find when someone asks about it. I hope it helps to have the link to the posts, even though I often do not have personal experience with the situation. Non-traditional education has become one of my favorite topics, and I am always happy to share information!

P.S. I also enjoy the fact that this forum is a group effort. Between all of us, the person asking gets the most thorough and accurate answers.

It's true: Non-traditional ed is fascinating and far more complex and pliable than I ever knew. I wish I had been as resourceful and independent in my thinking as many of the posters here are. I am amazed and impressed by their ability and willingness to think out of the box and forge or find new routes to their goals. I still feel a little like Alice having tumbled into Wonderland. But this group- this collective knowledge is soooo intoxicating- I'm totally hooked. Anyway, today was my first day at COSC- Yay! Anyway, thanx for all you do. :-)
And...I think I can I think I can I think I can!!

Did you ever end up doing this or have any updated information on VESi courses transferring to Amberton? Thanks!
