Oh I did mine on a a solar charge controller design specifically targeted to the Caribbean Region. It also integrated core Rovotics and IoT functionality. Applied Project thay filled a "gap".

You still have to do the actual research paper for an applied project, right? 

Wish I could just do a power point presentation for this and skip the paper altogether.

Yes you must do the paper, though its more work, in addition to all the research and paper, you design and test something you actually designed. If you want it easier then dont do the applied project.

Remeber to fill a "gap" in a field, you must know what currently exists.

So you must do research
