Hi everyone. I am graduating with a degree in Consumer Affairs from the University of Alabama in August. After reviewing the courses in the programs, I think that I am more interested in a Master's of Public Administration. I already have the prerequisites and it seems to fit my undergrad degree. However, I don't know if I will ever work in the public sector. I have read that MPA's can be valuable in the private sector as well. What do you think? Any MPA school suggestions (online)?

University of Alabama has a very highly regarded and affordable MBA program. They also have a great looking Masters in Marketing as well as other options. I would stick with the UA business school for your Masters.

I moved back to Georgia and have two classes online this summer to finish. I want to work full-time so I want to pursue my graduate degree online if possible. U of Alabama only offers an online business degree that is an MA in Business Management (Global). Not as broad as an MBA but from a great school...what do you think? I am working part-time until I am finished but need to get real experience...I am now 26 years old.

I think that if you don't have solid business experience, then either go to a B&M MBA program in Georgia, or wait a couple of years. Most MBA programs have students with 5-15 years experience under their belt. A big part of a B&M MBA program is the extensive networking, which is important for future employment, especially if you plan on staying in Georgia. That could help make up for lack of experience. I would seriously take a few hours and phone the MBA departments of the Georgia colleges and speak with the advisors.
If you are determined to go to online, then maybe the Valdosta MPA is the way to go. It is accredited and unbelievably inexpensive at around $170 per credit....plus you get 12 elective hours that you can choose.

Good luck whichever direction you go
