Money and Banking

Bongsau Wrote:Well, I got my score back, and it was a 56. My calculations were not entirely accurate, I suppose, but at least I passed. That should be a B score at Charter Oak. I'm pleased. I used only IC and Wikipedia for study materials. Thanks for all your advice and help on this one. It was a tuffy!

Matt,

You're right...at least you passed! Good for you! From everything I have heard, this is NOT an easy test, so just the fact that you passed it should make you very proud!

Great work Matt,

Well, I almost forgot about this thread: my girlfriend and I had a big change of plans and we're now both working towards a BA in Liberal Studies, so this class wasn't needed!

Thanks for all the advice anyway, and congrats to those who have passed this one! And good luck to whoever might have to take it a second time; just study hard and go get it!

...and wanted to pass along some tips. It is difficult but if you did OK on the Micro and Macro you can do this one.

Things to know:
Q regulation
how to calculate present value and future value
how coupons work on bonds and how they are calculated
history of the Fed
Keynesian views of economic variables and their interactions

I used IC and also took a few of the exams from IA State that are available online (just google Money and Banking exams). I also looked up key concepts on Wikipedia. I allowed 2 weeks prep because I absolutely needed to pass, but you could definitely do it in a week if you work hard.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Goal: TESC BSBA

I did the google search and I'm guessing that Leilani is referring to the exams at the following address:
Econ 353 Practice Exams: Money and Banking (Tesfatsion)

The final exams posted there look like they could be a great supplement to our materials. Thanks for the tip!
