I understand your bias, but this is a Wall Street Journal story, not a Fox News story.

I mean, I would agree that the majority of college majors aren't worth $40k in college debt with predatory interest rates. However, for those that can utilize alt credits, community colleges, employer benefits, military benefits, scholarships/grants, and other low cost options to avoid student loan debt, it's probably worth it for many professions.

Quote:The poll showed that the only groups that still see degrees as worth it are Democrats, those with degrees, and those earning six figures.
Those benefiting from a degree think degrees are worth it? Color me surprised.

This is true. I got my BS in IT and now I'm unemployed.
I had an IT job that pays over $75k a year.
I tried to get another IT job after getting a BS in IT degree but it turns out the degree on my resume makes me look more stupid and less sophisticated. Now, no one wants to hire me for any IT role.
If you get a degree from less known university, you'll get a worse reputation.

So leave it off your resume. Nobody knows you have a degree unless you announce it.
Also, I do not think an IT degree from a less known university is a negative. I think it's more about you than the degree.

I got a BS IT and then got hired for a position I definitely didn't have enough experience for.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Something tells me there's more to getting a job than the single line education section on a resume.
