I need help :( roadmap and questions

Hello all, Ive been lurking the last few weeks and trying to find my answers before posting, however a few things, I just cant find, so....I figured Id post up.

I have a a.a.s degree from a community college, and am taking classes here and there, but without enough hours in the day to complete my bachelors, and I cant exactly quit my job to just focus on school....ill stop rambling now, as Im sure everyone here, reading, or posting is in the exact same situation.

I need road plan help. I just filled out my stuff at Excelsior and am just waiting on the sharp minds here to finish it up.

1) from my reading...I should just apply now and pay the advisement now? correct? My plan is to CLEP test out of as much as I possibly can, and hopefully get my bachelors in less than a year from today.

2) Can someone please critique/help etc me? plan is...as fast as possible and as cheap as possible!

Now as my math suggests...I need 9 or 10 clep tests ...is that enough to graduate from excelsior? If i take 1 a month (along with my cc bio classes) that is 9 months roughly... however at 1500 enrollment/grad fee....and roughly 300 a test....thats about 5000 to complete it all (without the comm college classes)

Any ideas? suggestions? ways to shorten this and/or make it cheaper? I like the idea of 6 unit Upper Level tests, but I only saw 1
Also read today that the GRE would no long be able to test out of sections

So....

DSST tests are really the way to go....not taking tests thru EC.
Alot cheaper....so you clep and Dsst the tests away, for about 100 a peice, and as long as I can take the tests fairly often and pass them....this should be a peice of cake.



Here's a great question tho. If I wanted to get a Liberal Arts bachelor of science, then follow this up with a Accerlerated Bachelors of Nursing (for students with a bachelors in a different field) at a brick and motar school...do you think Id have any problem?

Does a Degree from EC transfer without a problem to a B&M school?

Haven't been on for a while but I'll try to help. You could try the Social Sciences and Hisotry General CLEP exam worth 6 credits. Pretty straightforeward and slightly easy. I've taken it cold and passed. Actually, it would be easier if you just bring in the CLEP exam titles and ask your counselor and see what transfers over. Same for DSST.
