Blank degree plans for ALL of the big three?
#1
Hey everyone,

I'm getting close to completing my Bachelor's degree. I have 93 credits from 3 Brick and Mortar schools and 27 credits through CLEP tests (100% pass rate, though it was close on the Humanities exam!)

I've officially applied to Excelsior (transcripts en route to Albany and $75 invested). I'm waiting for my unofficial review, etc.

Though before I spend $895 to enroll, I'm wondering about all of my options with the big three (and perhaps beyond).

Someone posted the blank BS - Liberal Studies degree from Excelsior that proved to be extremely helpful to me.

So my question for the board is: Can anyone post similar 'blank degrees' for Charter Oak, Thomas Edison and the blank BA for Excelsior.

Other various cost breakdowns would be appreciated also.

Hooray, that's my blank plan! I am so pleased you found it to be helpful. I also made up another one for EC's BA including the major option, which can be found here: http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...cs-ba.html

I would do one for COSC, but they don't really offer a liberal studies degree that would be quite as easy to transform into a template. You would have to look up the concentration requirements for any degree you chose there. But the general education and Arts & Sciences/Free Elective credits would be about the same for many of their degrees. And you can find them all here: https://www.charteroak.edu/Current/Acade...ements.cfm

And concentrations are here: https://www.charteroak.edu/Prospective/P...ations.cfm

And I've lined up a sample degree plan for COSC in this post, perhaps a little more neatly than in the links above: http://www.degreeforum.net/49930-post19.html but this plan was put together before COSC changed their requirements, so be aware that they now require a capstone course.

Thank very much!

Exactly what I was looking for with the Excelsior BA option.

My question now is: Is there any reason I'd want to pursue a BA from Excelsior rather than the BS?

It seems I might have all the requirements done for the BS, but the BA would just require me to complete 3 more science/math credits.

That's completely up to you. If you plan to go for a master's degree in a science or math discipline, then I would recommend it. An extra math or science class certainly won't hurt anyone's transcript.

However, since you refer to being interested in journalism or communications in your other thread, I don't think it's absolutely necessary, so it's your personal preference.
