Previously Transferred Sophia Courses? Also need advice on one last course

Hi, I know Sophia courses transfer have changed, and some that previously counted towards Gen Ed are now considered electives.

Last year I was enrolled, and went through the credit transfer process and degree plan. However, I had a family emergency before I could officially register for classes. I still have my student number/login, and it still shows my degree progress report and transfer credit report.

I reached out to see if I could re-enroll, but they said I had to reapply, which I've done. Do you think that will change the credits I've already transferred in? They said they have all the documents I had previously sent, so I'd only have to send in any new credits. I'm hoping that means I'm good, but I'll be crushed if I have to retake some of these classes lol.

Also, since I will be enrolling in Fall 2, I can squeeze in on more class at Sophia or somewhere. I currently have 85 credits (that will all say the same, hopefully) so realistically I can only get one more class transferred in.

I currently need: 

• ENG 121 College Composition II 
  
• GEC-GLO 5A. (GEO 101, SOC 100, or SWK 105 )
  
• BUS141
  
• BUS260
  
• BUS321
  
• BUS415
  
• PCJ215
  
• 1 of these (Bus 240, Bus 350, Bus 352, Bus 353)
  

I am thinking of taking one of the following at Sophia but not sure which would be the most efficient option:

• ENG 1020 Workplace Writing II (19% completed, but not finished)
  
• Intro to Sociology
  
• Business Communication

Workplace Writing II is the best option. Your already-transferred courses are on your transcript so you should be fine for those. They don’t get reevaluated.

I'm not sure why you're just looking for one, I would suggest adding a second or third to max the transfer and get over that 90+ credit limit. Even though they accept 90 credits into the degree program, if you have an odd number of credits, they may change the gen ed/electives around to make the most of your 90 credits for transfer. Example, you have a class or two that is just 1 or 2 credits, they'll swap the classes around to max/utilize the credits up to 90 for transfer.

Hmm, that's an interesting point. Do you have a suggestion on what else to take?

By looking at the Sophia.org UMPI link here, they've updated what the requirements would be for transferring, take the classes that do not come in as electives and comes in as a specific class. So, from your list, you can take Business Communications and Intro to Sociology, do the three if you have time on your subscription: https://umpi.sophia.org/
