Quickest Associate in Human Science, Psychology or Sociology,
#1
Hello,  I currently have an Associate Degree In Dental Hygiene (1993) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (1997).

For my job, I need the quickest Associate Degree in Human Science, Psychology or Sociology.

Price isn't issue as job is paying for it.

Not sure where to start.  I am familiar with CLEP.

TESU doesn't have AA's in those. They have a Undergrad Cert in Psych, and a BA in Psych or Sociology. Both would be fairly fast, and you could test out of a lot of them (especially since you already have a BA degree.

Patten has 3 BA's in Psych (different concentrations) and is a competency-based model. You could go through it pretty fast if you wanted to.

If you post your credits on here, I could help you come up with a plan, so you could see if it was worth doing. You need to post by school, and include whether it's semester-based or quarter based, course number, course name, number of credits, and grade if less than a C.

Other people know more about COSC and EC and can help you there.

The closest "quick" degree I can think of is Patten's associate's in criminal justice. Since you already have an associate's and bachelor's, you likely have all or most of the general education requirements for community colleges. However, you'd probably need to take a semester of psychology or sociology courses because the CCs will have at least a 15-credit residency requirement. The residency can be fulfilled with online courses.

are you sure you need an associates in one of those ?

does the job requirement state "minimum requirement: Associates in Human Science, Psychology or Sociology" ?

if that's what it says I'd be surprised if your bachelors doesn't already surpass that requirement

I forgot that TESU has a human services associates. That might be the best option. COSC only has general studies associates. Excelsior has a liberal arts associates with a concentration in human services.

The OP's degree is not related to any of those. I can tell by the credits posted.

Sounds like an HR person had a brilliant idea to create this requirement. They probably read some article somewhere and implemented this requirement. I really don't understand why an AA would be more valuable than the BAS in this case?

It's like that person who on this board needed a second BA and the HR person at first wouldn't accept an MBA instead.

Similar thing happened to my friend who has a BS in Business Analytics and they told him that he needed a BSBA. Unfortunately you can't always negotiate with HR folks or reason.

My degree doesn't fit. My transcript doesn't reflect enough classes in human service field. So they say.....

Agency director must have either a bachelor's degree in a human service field (such as social work, psychology, education, nursing, or closely related field)

or

have an associate degree in nursing, education, or a related field

The "in" part needs defining. Some schools allow you to do an area of study, or a concentration at the associate level, but associate degrees are typically an Associate of Arts, an Associate of Science, etc not an Associate of Psychology, etc. What "exactly" does your job want and what would qualify? That's the key.
I don't know if this would work, but if you did one of the BOG degrees, I think you could get a specialization in any subject that you had 15 credits in. (psych would be cheapest via exam options- assuming your prior credit fills in the right spots)

Edit: I say your explanation. I'm still thinking you could do the BOG very quickly and inexpensively.

I don't think you can get a BOG degree if you already have a bachelor's degree, or even another associate's degree.
TESU BA June 2018.
Various business certificates still to do.
