Real? OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Accounting and Finance
#1
Hi guys,

I respect your sharp analytical skills to evaluate education providers and would like to hear your opinion about an offer I am considering: https://sbusinesslondon.ac.uk/courses/ot...nd-finance

I talked to the admissions adviser of the School of Business & Technology London, and after checking my transcripts + CV, they told me I am eligible for their OTHM Level 7 Diploma due to professional experience, even though I don't have a bachelor's degree.

Their price of 908£ seems good but realistic. They said the program is planned for 12 months but can be completed faster since it is self-paced. I asked if there are any limits to how fast I can go, and the advisor said 5–6 months is possible.

The advisor had an Indian name, but I guess that is pretty common for OTHM/Qualifi course providers in the UK. At least it seemed incredibly common to me.

All of these online course providers for Level 7 Diplomas are pretty small, and it is hard to evaluate their credibility since the web doesn't have much information about them.

I checked them on the OTHM "approved center" list and found them: https://othm.org.uk/listingcenter?cn=DC2009447 - I guess that's a good sign.

I know that there is a lot of scamming and fake stuff going on with such diplomas in the UK. Do you guys see any red flags with this offering, or do you think it is an authentic and safe provider?

I am afraid of dumping 900£ for something fake, and I am not too familiar with the UK education system, so I hope somebody here can help me evaluate whether I don't need to worry going along with this offer or whether I should stay away from it.

OTHM Level 7 usually costs about 800 to 1000 British pound. Variation occurs a little bit between centers.

Since you have checked that the institution is approved in the OTHM official website list, and the price is in the normal range, I think you will be fine.

I was also discussing UK Level 7 business related diploma in another post. You may find some useful info there: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...MBA-Top-up .

Also, please check that how many credit is your Level 7 Diploma (there are variants of 60, 90 and 120). To top-up to a UK master program, you will need a 120 credit Level 7 diploma to do so.

This post might be useful to you as well. bjcheung77 bought multiple Level 7 Diploma: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...-Diploma-s
