I'll just say now that math is not my strong point- it is my weakest in fact.
I would like to get through all Math CLEPs as painlessly as possible, but I do not
understand what TESC means when they state under Natural Sciences and Mathematics:
Precalculus Mathematics or Quantitative Analysis
Principles of Statistics
What are these subjects?? And what would the CLEP be for them?
I know that the college mathematics CLEP gives 6 credits and each of the (two) subjects I just mentioned equal 3 credits.
Would College Mathematics cover these strange sounding subjects okay? Help! I am thoroughly confused.

The College Mathematics CLEP covers neither of those topics. There is a Precalculus CLEP and a Statistics DSST. The College Algebra DSST may also fulfill the requirement. ALEKS is also an option for both Precalculus or Business Statistics, and Straighterline for Precalculus and Business Statistics.

OK to start with, math is probably my strongest point.
Precalculus Mathematics or Quantitative Analysis:
CLEP Precalculus will work for this
Principles of Statistics:
DSST (Dantes for short) Principles of Statistics
I will say that I used up every bit time for this test. You can check the Specific Feedback section for more info on the test. This is a very time consuming test. I usually have plenty of time left at the end of tests (OK, except College Composition

), but not with this one. The biggest problem I had was the Z-scores and T-scores. The tables were different. But managed to get through it.
Sorry, I think got a little carried away here. If you need more info. just check Specific Feedback section or PM. They are doable exams. Don't let them (or me) scare you.
God bless

I'm sure this is not good news but college math clep would probably fill the gen ed credit. On my eval the other natural science slot states "Complete 3 semester hours from Natural Sciences Department; except the mathematics department." COS-101 Intro to computing is sitting in that space on my eval. DSST race to save the planet or Astronomy would be options for that slot as well. You might want to speak with an advisor to find out specifically what type of course would to fill that space.
For the BSBA programs Precalcus or QBA and Statistics are required. Below are links to the descriptions.
College Algebra
does not fulfill these requirements. As already mentioned, you have options on testing out or courses through Aleks, SL, or Penn Foster. Business statistics (Aleks, SL, PF) is not a requirement and is considered an U/L course at TESC (OPM-351). And as a business major you will more than likely be given credit for both stats courses (STA-201 and OPM-351). This is your choice but if you plan to go this route, both stats courses, have it approved first and entered on your eval as there have been minor inconsistencies lately.
Good luck!

I know this isn't what you're asking but I would recommend taking college mathematics regardless. It's not that bad of a test and I am really not very good at math. Obviously you would want to verify what it would count for, but even if it didn't go towards any requirements, it's still 6 not-so-horrible credits. (The worst part about the exam for me was the nervousness beforehand) A great bargain IMHO!

I second that. College Math is a good test to get you warmed up, and yes, an easy 6 credits.
