Requesting guidance for completing a BSBA through TESC on the heals of a BA in Psych
#1
Today my BA in psychology was officially conferred through TESC. For the remainder of the tuition year (ends Oct, 2014) I plan to complete a BSBA in General Management through CBE. I believe the next steps would be to request an academic evaluation and update the active program of study in my OSS profile accordingly (which I have done via email). If not, someone please advise me of next steps in the process, and any other useful tidbits.
To date: Transferred 60 credits in from B&M colleges, earned 57 credits by examination in 6 mos, aced the capstone to earn a BA in Psychology.

I'm also considering doing a BSBA in management, because I am an enrolled student until October as well.

Next step is to follow the online application process and indicate that you are an alumnus/alumna to waive the application fee:

I'm getting a script error when I try to log in, so I'll try again after I receive notification that the student portal is back online.

To pursue another degree program, you will need to be accepted into that program. Thus the need to complete and submit an application for admission.

Did you get that from TESC? Looking through the catalog it doesn't say you must reapply.

When I switched my major from psychology to social sciences, I simply emailed advising and they switched my major.....I figured it would be just as simple, being alumnus.

When I was thinking about completing the BSBA after my BA, I think they told me that I needed to reapply. You're automatically changed to inactive once you graduate even though your enrollment fee is still good. Applying is free for alumni.

Yes I did get it from TESC - via email and over the telephone. Completing a second degree after the conferral of the first is not the same process as switching majors.

What stopped you from completing the BSBA? I'm on the fence about whether to pursue the BSBA or not. On one hand it shows my competency in a different field, but I could probably get into a masters program dealing with leadership...IDK.

I decided to go straight into a masters program unrelated to business. I graduated 12/2011 and entered the masters program 01/2012. I've always thought about going back and completing it. What turned me off was the pre-calculus requirement, but that's been dropped down to college algebra. I'm also not looking forward to microeconomics, accounting, statistics, and finance. I've completed a graduate-level statistics course, but I wouldn't want to use it for an undergraduate degree because it couldn't be used for many graduate programs afterward. Since my statistics in CJ course stripped out most of the quantitative stuff, I would still have to do a lot of studying to pass a CBE or ALEKS.
