Roadmap Refinement Help? TESU BALS
#21
(01-24-2018, 10:46 PM)jsd Wrote: In the past TESU has awarded UL for the ones dfrecore mentioned. This is absolutely true. However, as of 1/1 TESU has downgraded some Study.com courses to LL that they used to accept as UL. Due to that, there is speculation that TESU is downgrading other providers as well, but we don't know this to be true. It's speculation until someone completes those courses this year and then sends them over.

Well, one (hopefully) UL down, four to go. I did the Literature in the Media course today.. have my fingers crossed.

Modernist and Holocaust Literatures done, plus Film Studies LL.. just need Women's Literature and Shakespeare's Plays, I think.

Wow, you’re a lot faster than me at these. It took me all day yesterday (with interruptions) to do 2 units of Modernist. I have one left and I hope to complete that course today. Then I’ll take Lit in Media. I wish it was faster!

I have an advising appointment on Feb 6th and I hope to have these transferred over by then.

Spent my whole weekend with my nose to the monitor.. Big Grin Please let me how it goes with the transfer, will be good to have a confirmation. Literature in the Media felt long to me but it wasn't too bad.

UPDATE:

Okay! Just got the Guardian Scholarship at Study.com. I've also had Shmoop for about a week. On the template dfrecore made for me, I filled in some spaces with courses I could take through Shmoop and left the CLEP tests as they were. Anything highlighted in orange on the template is something I've completed; anything in white is something I have left to do.

I also filled in some of the free electives with Humanities and Literature classes available from Shmoop. Now that I've got access to Study.com, is there anything different I should do? I could definitely use some guidance here.

Nope, you don't have to change too much, stick with the current plan. Your Personal Finance course would just take up one of the FREE electives. That leaves you with 5 more courses, you can use that for the FREE electives, General Eds, OR even the Area Of Study. You might want to use the Study.com courses for UL courses for the Area of Study...

If you want to use them for your BALS no concentration... See below for info and extra details.
The first link has basic info, the second one expanded on the info. Hope this helps you.

I've got most of those Shmoop literature courses done.. the ones we think are transferable as UL to TESU. Study.com also has an oral communication course doesn't it?

Yes, they do. BUT and this is a big butt... some members believe it has been "dropped" from their list of applicable courses. But I think it's still acceptable. I would recommend doing the missing Oral Communications course from them, you should email academic advising to verify it's still accepted. Report back as it's been going "back and forth" for the last month...

Will do. I need to confirm the Professional / Technical Writing substitute for English II also.

I wish I could hammer at your pace. Shmoop is so frustrating, I don't enjoy how they shmoopify their exams.
