SL BIO LAB question

I'm working on the labs and one of the questions are pretty damn confusing. If anyone that has completed the lab or can decipher the question for me it would be well appreciated.

Lab 6
Natural genetics lab
1. Remove the two sheets of paper with blue and red “habitats”, at the end of this lab.
2. Place 50 red and 50 blue beads into a 100 mL beaker.
3. Mix them well and pour them onto the sheet marked “Red Habitat”.
4. Keep the beads that fall onto habitat that matches their color.
5. For each bead that you keep (and return to the beaker), add another bead of the same color to
the beaker (discard the rest).
6. Repeat this three Ɵmes.
7. Record the remaining colors.
Blue _____________
Red _____________

This is the blue habitat:

I'm getting confused with question 4 and 5. When they say keep do they mean keep on the paper and everything thats removed is placed back into the beaker? If thats the case for everything thats returned to the beaker I don't have enough beads of the same color to put in the beaker.

It's been awhile since I did it but if I remember right you pour the beads onto the paper. There are two colors on the paper (red and blue). If a bead of the same color is on that color then you "keep" it. So if a red bead falls on the red part of the paper you "keep" it. If it falls on the blue part you don't.

Take all the beads you "kept" and put them back in the beaker. Take all the ones you didn't "keep" and put them back in the little bead bags. Now look at the beads in the beaker. Let's say you have 10 red and 6 blue. Take 20 red and 6 blue out of the bead bags and add them to them beaker.

"Keep" means keep in the experiment. All the other beads that didn't fall on their color go back in the bag. Hope that made sense.

It's a tedious way of letting you see how genetics works I guess. The labs in this course were not well done.

LOL, well, Punnett Squares work well too.

I was impressed with SL until I did this course. The labs are not well written, and I had a huge battle to get the SL advisors to see that I'd actually completed everything in order for them to submit my transcript to COSC. On the plus side, they are ungraded, so I wouldn't spend too much time on it.
