Survivor's Story
#11
Yes, many different denominations have claimed knowledge of the end of the world, yet the Christian Bible says no man will know the day or the hour. To the non-believers in the forum: I'm fine with your disbelief. But I do not believe the Christian God to be some old man in the sky. No Christian that I know of does. Read the Bible. It says God is a spirit. It is disrespectful to make fun of another's religious beliefs, especially when the information rendered by the heckler isn't even correct.

There have been studies conducted at the University of Arizona studying the phenomenon of human consciousness continuing even after clinically documented brain death...the information that is provided by this study is pretty fascinating. There have been people who have died, have come back to life after being clinically brain dead, and were accurately able to recount all of the details of what was occurring in the room as they were floating above their bodies. As a matter of fact, there are scientists that study near death experiences and they have come across some pretty amazing information too.

Others can hang on to the religion of atheism or science... that is fine. But evolution has some gaping holes in the theory and it is taught as if it is an absolute truth in our schools today. Scientists are constantly finding out new things that disprove what was previously thought to be scientifically valid. All I know is that the human mind is tragically flawed and people are not as intelligent as they think they are. As a matter of fact, I find the ideas of some of the great scientists of our day as nauseatingly ridiculous.

This so called man of God did nothing but make Christians look silly. Most evangelical Christians in polling said they did not agree with the man that made the end of the world prophecy. Yet there are atheists throwing parties tomorrow as if they just somehow proved Christianity wrong by this man's prophecy not coming true. The words of one obviously deceived and confused individual does not represent the beliefs of Christians as a whole.

As for me, I do not believe I am some ape descendent. I am a human. I believe I have a spirit, as it is energy that keeps me alive and functioning, and as we know, energy can neither be created nor destroyed... my being will go on in another form. I believe in intelligent design and an Intelligent Designer (God), as so much of the evidence points in that direction. I do not believe that a "God Particle" somehow exploded on its own to create the magnificence of our universe and the wonder of life as it exists today. I mean really, a particle blows up and we get self-aware, intelligent beings billions of years later? DNA magically evolved to produce every species we see on Earth? Just the odds of any of this happening without an Intelligent Designer is basically impossible... the mathematical language of statistics points against the very idea of all of this happening on its own. Shockingly, I can be a Christian and intelligent, despite what the all knowing non-believing atheists say.

As I've stated, I having nothing against atheists or agnostics. Just please do not make comments that disrespect people of faith. I apologize for the rant, but I'm getting a little tired of the statements people make that insult people of faith.

Oh, and those bylaws I live, what's wrong with them again? Let's see now...

Don't lie.
Don't cheat on my spouse.
Don't commit adultery with another man's spouse.
Don't kill.
Don't rape.
Don't worship false idols.
Don't steal.
Honor my mother and father.
Don't bear false witness against my neighbor.
Don't be greedy and covetous.
Love everyone, including my enemies.
Treat everyone like I would like to be treated.

How exactly is living by these bylaws a bad thing? The people who attend my church go out and help the world. They feed the hungry, clothe the poor, offer medical aid to the needy, help each other in their time of need... all because the bylaws command us to do so. I am sorry if any member of any faith ever mistreated you. Too many people of faith tend to do the opposite of what the "bylaws" tell them to do. And this comes out in the form of hypocrites who mistreat others, and this reflects poorly on the faith they claim to represent. My "bylaws" help me to be a better person and to remember that there are other people in the world besides me that could use my help.

Wow this is so cool. I'm up here in heaven right now and God just let me schedule a CLEP for tomorrow. There is an extra plus to this. I can take the test as many times as I want, and they're all FREE. I'm going to try and take a CLEP or DSST every day this week. Also, you should see the computer network system up here, its incredible. Internet is extremely fast. I just downloaded 500,000 movies from Netflix, or some movie company (I don't remember), in about three minutes. Well I've gotta go, I'm tutoring some young Angles in aeronautical science.

Dear CLEP101,

My post what not in any way directed at you. I loved the T-shirt idea. It was rather humorous that this guy tried yet again to predict the end of the world and failed.

My response was to this quote from "bawhittset" posted in this thread:

"Non-believers could say the same thing about the followers of any religious denomination. While leaders may not ask you to drink tainted kool-aid or strap a bomb to your chest and blow yourself up in the middle of a mall, living your life according to the bylaws of an all-powerful and seeing, but never seen, man in the sky could be called just as crazy."

Hence I made the "bylaws" comment and the "please don't comment on a person's religion without knowing what they believe" reply. I apologize if you felt my posts were directed at you.

My thoughts are that over 80% of Americans believe in a God... so does that mean they are crazy? I think not.

No One Knows That Day and Hour
36 “But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, [7] but the Father only. 37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

ESV Bible.
People that try to predict the end of the world do not believe the whole bible! It grieves me that there is even a thread about this. People that do not believe the bible will look at this and laugh, not only at the people that predicted the end, but also at Christians. Here is a link to a good article stating reasons why people could not predict the end. http

Ruh-ro. Did I just see a headline that said that he did a math boo-boo, and it's now in October? Isn't he an engineer? Note to self: avoid bridges, tunnels, etc. built as a result of the "great predictor's" math.
