To quickly recap my story, I was planning to go to TESU for my bachelors until I discovered my previous credits wouldn't transfer in. (Long story short: I didn't realize the distance education accreditation organization wasn't considered a regional accreditation. Oops.) So I have already applied to TESU, they've noted two credits worth of transfer credit, and I will be taking a TECEP.
BUT...I'll be going elsewhere for my degree. As I accumulate ACE-reviewed courses, is there any benefit to having these sent to TESU in addition to my target school?

If you don't enroll within 6 months of applying, TESU basically dumps your information. You only get two evaluations prior to enrolling.

I was told the application information is good for a year (not 6 months). But that's good to know.

There's not much point to sending your credits to TESU if you don't want a degree there. Plus, it costs money to send transcripts, so why pay double when you don't need them.
TECEP's are good for inexpensive UL credits though, so it certainly can't hurt to take some while you're "enrolled" there (it's cheaper than doing it as an un-matriculated student). EC and COSC will require UL's, and TECEP's are a good way to get them - and they're cheaper than UExcel's.

Im curious about this 6 months rule about enrolling did it they change it recently to 12 months? All of the documents I received from TESU states that you have 1 year to enroll for your application, catalog, and evaluation to count. Once 12 months hits and if you still haven't enrolled you would have to reapply etc. I see nothing about the 6 months everything on TESU states 12 months.
My Plan: Earn a MSML or a MBA at WGU!

Catalogs change yearly and there are many minor to major changes, I do believe a few years back it was set at 6 months and with the newer updates in a previous couple of years, that's changed to 12 months. I am two catalog years back, I think it was 6 months for me... I'll have to dig deep into my records for that though.
For a majority of people, it won't affect you at all since you're going to apply and enroll anyways, most of the time, people already bring in 60-90 credits already and will be backing a TECEP or a Capstone course. The only benefit of it being 12 months is if you are starting and recently applied, you won't need to reapply anytime soon...

I also question the "two evaluations" thing. I've seen no evidence of that. I dribbled in 3 or 4 separate Saylor, CLEP and DSST reports AFTER my CC transcript and before I finally enrolled. They were all processed and added to my eval. They didn't tell me I couldn't send more in after number 2.

The rule might have changed. TESU is always removing and changing things on its website. That was the rule when I applied in 2011. EC and COSC only give one evaluation. EC didn't evaluate one of my transcripts because the school was having technical issues, and the transcript came after EC did the evaluation. TESU told me not to worry because I would get one more evaluation.
It looks like now there will be multiple updates.

It was my understanding that you could send in transcripts if/as necessary, and they should be added. But you only get two official evaluations -- as in, someone sitting down going over it and talking about it with you. I don't think adding the data to your TESU account counts as "an evaluation."
