Yes, for context, I added the AP News article regarding "clean coal."

AP News Wrote:States won by Trump in the 2024 election accounted for 74% of all solar capacity installed in the first quarter of 2026, with Texas, Florida, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Arizona and Mississippi ranking among the top 10 states for new solar additions

"Elon Musk Says The Sun Can Power All of Civilization." A fascinating discussion I think.

That said, I am also a fan of nuclear power. there are plans to build a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) near me. In Virginia, there are already two nuclear power plants that operate four reactors.

Elon has been saying that for quite a while, and it’s amazing to think that today solar is often cheaper than natural gas. I’m all for lower electricity costs.

People have been promoting the ability of solar to power civilization for centuries. Elon just said it louder to try and promote his solar company.

“The fuel in the earth will be exhausted in a thousand or more years, and its mineral wealth, but man will find substitutes for these in the winds, the waves, the sun's heat, and so forth.”

I agree with you that we should be increasing our use of nuclear, and apparently a lot of the electricity used in Northern Virginia comes from that nuclear plant at Lake Anna you mentioned. But certainly better to use renewables than fossil fuels.

I'd like to see desalinization plants run by nuclear reactors built next to them. Two birds, one irridated stone.
