Source for Online RA Credit?(Outlier.org)

Links to brochures for the other 2 degrees. These show what certificates you can choose from for each program and what courses are included(hint: some courses like calculus 2, computer science 1/2, managerial accounting, and professional communication are planned for release in time for their corresponding semester).

Could be a good opportunity for someone who is already collecting mostly RA credits and doesn't have many other local/flexible CC options for an associates degree. If one maximized transfer credits and only needed the final 15 through outlier/GGU, they'd pay $149 * 15 = $2235. Having the CS 1/2, calc 1/2, and accounting courses as potential RA options could be beneficial for some.

Note on transfer: it looks like they limit non accredited transfer(military, work, certificates, etc.) Would be limited to 12. I'm guess ACE, if they accept it, would be included in that limit.

Interesting that the sample schedule has the IBM/Google cert in Term 3 (for computing). Wonder if they'll give credit to people who've already completed them.

I asked about credit for already completed certs. The person in chat didn't have a definitive answer but suggested including that info in an application and that it would likely count against the 12 credit limit on non-accredited sources of credit, so probably using the whole limit.

Another tidbit I just noticed (on the main FAQs), Outlier courses taken via Degrees+ are transcripted at 4 credit hours each (I assume semester hours, would need to verify) through GGU. Outlier courses taken individually are still 3 credit hours via UPitt (or 3-4 credits via ACE if you choose).

So taking it individually is cheaper, $400 vs. via GGU $149x4 ?

Whether it's 3 credits or 4, $400 is cheaper than $149/credit. At $149/credit, it'd either be $447 or $596 for a single class.

ACE will be cheaper than $400/course whether you use Study.com, Sophia, Saylor, CLEP, etc.

Outlier will be next.

But GGU makes you take 15cr in residency, so you'll be paying $2,235 for tuition there no matter what; that's a great deal compared to their regular tuition.  But it's certainly not a great price compared to Pierpont (free) or Snow College (~$1,900 for a semester, unlimited courses, and they accept ACE credit as well).

I just stumbled onto outlier.org during a web search and it sounds like a good option for looking for RA credits. Glad to read all the details and history provided on this thread about this organization since I wasn't sure if it was a viable option. There's way more credit options now than a few years ago.

If you're looking for RA and graded credits, I think it's an option to look at and review. It depends on the school you will eventually go with for the degree, if that institution accepts ACE/NCCRS credits, I will take the bulk of the credits using that option then taking the requirements for RA/graded credits at Outlier.org as they partner with institutions...

Edit to add: If you can afford the Outlier.org courses, you can also look at the ASU ULC ones as well, they're very similarly priced and self-paced...

Only a few ASU UL courses are self-paced; most are on a more traditional semester-based schedule with deadlines and the whole 9 yards.
