Is this worth UL credit?? For Excelsior? Anyone know?
Thanks

It's not ACE/NCCRS recommended as UL, and Excelsior usually goes by that.

The quizzes and videos can be tedious and repetitive but not too bad. As long as you understand proper grammar, punctuation, essay structure, and citations, you will be fine.

I started it a little over a week ago, but got distracted for a few days in the middle. Quizzes can be knocked out in a day or two.

I somehow missed that we could take the final. I swear I read that the assignments had to be submitted first. Based on your reply, I went and busted out on the final and received 95/100. Now to figure out these blasted papers!!!

Would any of you be willing to share your research proposal? I just can't seem to wrap my head around what they want. I'm not looking to copy, I'm looking for format and what content you included. *This is why I don't teach English!*

Ha sure thing. I checked back and it did mention somewhere about doing the papers first... But it didn't stop me from doing the final. Still haven't gotten back the confirmation on the proctored final but I did get back my first assignment. 12/20 ? maybe my worst English paper yet. I'll see if I can upload something tomorrow so you have an idea of what NOT to do ?

I completed this course in January and it was transferred over to Excelsior as English Comp II. I am not great at writing by any means. I did learn a lot from this course.

Is it possible to skip many of the writing assignments? Like will they show you where you stand before all the assignments are in once the proctor checks the footage?

For Comp. I, I did the quizzes (99%), the final (91%), assignment 1 (19/25), assignment 2 (21/25), but skipped assignment 3. But I have a feeling this was enough to pass it. It's still showing as pending for now.

For Comp. II, I did the quizzes (99%), the final (86%), and haven't even looked at the writing assignments for it yet. I'll probably have to do one of them at least? This one's also still pending, and I took the final the same day as the Comp. I final.

So I took the final a couple weeks ago and passed with a 91. It still shows as pending. I turned in the first assignment so far. It's looking like maybe they won't give me a passing grade until I complete all the assignments.

I wrote asking about my grades. The response was that I had to turn in all 3, have them graded and then they would post a final grade. So much for only needing 16 points. Sigh. I did assignment 2, now I need 1 & 3. BLECK!

"Is it possible to skip many of the writing assignments?"

in the Study.com version, you only have 2 or 3 papers and with A's on the quizzes and final, you only have to do 1 of them

FWIW, Study.com wouldn't give me a final grade until I submitted all three assignments (Comp II).
