Study.com and Tentative Exam Score Grades?
#11
I also wish Study.com would change their grading policy and perhaps include the chapter exams as part of the grade to make the final exam worth less of a percentage. I prefer Straighterline's policy of having the finals worth 20 or 30% of the grade rather than Study.com's 75% for courses without written projects.

I don't know, only requiring a 55% on a final to receive college credit seems acceptable. Obviously I would love it the chapter tests counted too, but it's pretty reasonable as is.

Yup, 55 is pretty good.
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.

I haven't taken a course from Study.com yet, but man, I really want to try their system out... after I am done with my current set of courses.
But yeah, I think the 55% or whatever score in the final would be better than what they had earlier, 100% dependent on the final exam!

is every study.com course a 55% to pass?
TESU March 2020 Graduation

I started this journey in the summer of 2016.  I hoped to be done sooner, but I am still proud of the rate at which I have gotten my schooling done with respect to the many months of military training and deployments I have undergone.

Not exactly.

A lot of the Study.com LL credit courses, such as Principles to Finance require that you complete about a hundred + (5 question quizzes). Quizzes have unlimited attempts and you must get at least an 80% in all quizzes to take the final.

A lot of people on this forum seem to want to get a 100% on all the quizzes so they have a cushion for the final exam and would only need 55% to pass.

Now some of the upper level courses require projects and the classes are broken down into 3 which if you do 100% on the quizzes and do fairly well on the project you would need even less on the final exams.

I think the grading policy of study.com is great as it is. If you get 100% on the quizzes and know the flash cards, it is pretty much impossible to fail the class. For those that want a format VERY similar to study.com but with immediate exam score grades and a higher price, sophia.com is an option. I have taken both and actually prefer Sophia's set-up, but you can get 2 classes at study.com for less than the price of one class at Sophia, and study.com's catalog of classes is much larger, plus study.com is so responsive on this board, so my choice was study.com to finish my degree. After I take the study.com exam, I just request the class be added to my ACE transcript, and move on to the next one. Get 100s on the quizzes and use the flashcards and this delayed exam score grade thing is not even an issue.
TESU BA June 2018.
Various business certificates still to do.

Anyone know why My Score shows up in my Dashboard :

Finance 102: Personal Finance
Taken: 11/03/2016
Status: Passed
Score: 86%

But I haven't received an e-mail or anything with my score. I thought they e-mailed when the score was available. Should I take this as good to go and start planning to take the next test?
